“Outstanding boutique hotel”

Our family stayed at Hotel Rector for two nights. From our arrival until our departure, everything was just perfect. Employees are fantastic, especially at the front desk. At our arrival, they already made sure we knew what sites to visit and recommended the best restaurants in town.
The location of the hotel is excellent, around a 10-minute walk to Plaza Mayor and right next to the roman bridge over the Tormes. We never had to use our car during our two-day visit. We enjoyed the lobby area of the hotel which was beautifully decorated and had all sorts of interesting books to look at. The hotel is very quiet, so we all slept very well. Breakfast was also very good.

“Excellent hotel”

Hotel Rector is easy to pass by when driving into Salamanca, but once found, it is a wonderful place to stay. It is not as centrally located as some other hotels (which looked very nice from the outside at least) but this hotel was of extremely high quality in its furnishings and appointments. Close to luxurious, so it's a great value. Great city--so much to see and do. We stayed two nights, could have easily done another....

“Excellent in all respects”

My wife, son and I were visiting our daughter, who is spending the semester at the university. We could not have selected a better hotel for our 2-night stay. Price was reasonable considering how lovely the hotel was, how well-appointed it was, how good the food was, and how friendly/helpful the staff was. Cannot go wrong here.

“A gem!”

A friend of ours recommended the Hotel Rector, and we're so glad she did. I would describe it as 'understated luxury'. It's not flashy, but quite elegant. Nice mix of modern and antique. I love the tables piled with art books in the lobby. The service was spectacular. We put them to the test by asking if they could find us a private tour guide within 12 hours ... on a holiday ... and they came through! The hotel is perfectly located right on the edge of the historic district, just down the street from the Roman. As others have pointed out, the parking garage is very small, but the staff will park your car for you, and it's safe. We had a room on the street, and the window is so well sound-proofed that our room was perfectly quiet.

Room Tip: Rooms on the street are very quiet.

“Fantastic Hotel with Outstanding Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 November 2011

We chose this hotel because of the trip advisor reviews and found that everything that had been said about it was true. It is a boutique hotel that is really tastefully furnished. The common areas have some beautiful antiques, including wall-hangings (formerly bed covers) that are hundreds of years old. We had a beautiful room facing the street, so overlooking the old town. The room was spotlessly clean and a reasonable size. The amenities were superb - Bvlgari. Whilst the selection at the breakfast buffet wasn't huge, the food was of excellent quality and personally we would prefer quality food rather than a large selection of inferior food, so we found the breakfast great! The service was outstanding. You really felt like they wanted to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Their recommendations for dinner were also great. One of the restaurants they recommended was simply superb (unfortunately I cannot remember the name but I think it started with El Meson. It was located just outside of Plaza Mayor and I had the most delicious suckling pig). Overall, staying in this hotel was just a fantastic experience!
