Stayed at this hotel for 1 night. Got the room last minute on arrival in Salamanca. The price was more than we paid in most other places in Spain but the location was very convenient for 1 day exploration of the city. There is discounted parking in a garage 2 blocks away but the hotel is on a pedestrian street so you have to walk a few blocks to get to it.
The hotel is located right on Plaza Mayor so the location can't be better than that. The rooms are small but beds are relatively comfortable. There is a desktop computer in each room. Rooms are modern looking but old. The weirdest thing in the hotel was a glass see-through door into the bathroom. It just doesn't make any sense especially for a room of such a small size.
The refrigerator in our room did not work and since we checked in around 11pm they said there was nobody available to take a look at the problem.
Breakfast was decent. The highlight of breakfast was the stunning view from the breakfast room onto the Plaza Mayor.

Stayed at the Petit Palace for one night - what a disappointing experience! The great location was not sufficient to make up for the lack of quality & cleanliness. Room was tiny, transparent bathroom door (?!), there was a leak from the bathroom ceiling when air-conditioning turned on, mould & mildew along bath, and an awful constant stench from the toilet.. To top it all off - I spotted a little cockroach run into the a crack of the wall when we returned from a night out! For the amount we paid, we could have gotten a much better place in Salamanca.

I stayed at Hotel Petit Palace Las Torres for 24 days, the rooms are very clean, there is a complementary breakfast which is good, not a single noise at night (except for people walking in the hall but there was an Art Festival near the hotel and we didn't hear ANYTHING) There is free internet all over the hotel (wifi is not very good but it is free!) They lend bicycles in the afternoons (yes, they are also free!) And although it doesn't have a lot of amenities, it has everything necessary to make your stay great.

The only thing I didn't like was that bathroom doors were see-through...

Don't be lured by reviews or Lonely Planet – the rooms in his hotel are so small you can barely fit in. When you sit on the lavatory, your knees touch your chin. It is noisy and run-down. Windows in rooms opening onto street or square have to be shut to prevent noise; other quieter rooms look into small light wells.
The breakfast was OK and the hotel was reasonably clean but check-out was a nightmare with most people descending into a tiny space by the desk, luggage everywhere and some people having to wait outside. The location by Plaza Mayor is good, but there are plenty of other alternatives near-by which look much better.
