Good location for both center and train/bus station. Taxi ride to airport about 20 Euro with tip. Some decent restaurants and bars nearby that were not flooded with tourists.

Rooms were clean and staff was friendly and spoke English well.

Complaints:
Wifi would not allow any downloading of e-mails via wireless (ipad/iphone). No problems anywhere else - they used "Kubi" network which requires a 24 hour activation password. Hotel provides but only gets to internet. I think this second layer of security caused some sort of problem with e-mail. Staff in denial on this point. Laptop plugged into network via cable provided worked fine but my wife who had been working the entire trip from her iPad had to go elsewhere to do e-mail.

Corner room NOISY if window open. If Window closed, HOT! A/C seemed to have been disabled.

If you are in Leon on Sunday, EVERYTHING except cafes and a few tourist shops on street to Cathedral is shut down.

The hotel is located some 10 minutes from the old town, 15 to the cathedral. We had a room with the view to the street intersection but actually was quite. Corte Ingles is in front of the hotel as a park. Tha staff was helpfull.

Located on the edge of the old town, about 10mins walk from the cathedral. The location is a pleasant enough area, across the road from a principal Spanish department store.
The room we had was larger than average, well fitted out and modern. Free wifi available with a reasonable connection rate.
Breakfasts were buffet type, with a wide selection of foods, including fresh fruits. These were better than average.
Downsides...lifts seemed busy after breakfast, requiring waiting. Not unusual in busy hotels.
The underground car park, had a rather narrow, winding entry and exit ramp. Many vehicles had come to grief along its edges and corners. I have never seen so many paint marks. Car drivers beware!

I'd recommend this hotel based on its location, about 5 minutes or so from the old town, right opposite El Corte Inglés and not far from the river. The hotel doesn't have much character but it's clean, good value and the rooms are well equipped. León is a pleasant city to explore and the hotel does the job nicely as a base.
