Very well located in Burgos (pedestrian zone), good service ...

Situated in the centre of Burgos, near all the attractions and amenities, Shopping, Covered Markets, Fashion Boutiques, Tourist Office, Cathedral, Restaurants, main bus station etc., this 2 Star Hotel is of a much higher standard.

There is an old world charm about this place, which had been actually a Palace at one time and it is in the list of Paradores.

Most rooms are elegant, spacious, modern, clean and sensibly furnished for travellers.

The staff are very helpful, pleasant and obliging.

The break fast room is in the style of a high class restaurant, without much fuss and the buffet breakfast is quite adequate but mostly we chose to eat out for enjoying the atmosphere of the town in the early hours. The value for money for the breakfast is certainly better in the hotel.

Book well in advance as it gets full during the season and we saw so many being turned away. It is on the St Jacques Compostela Camino Route, which makes it even more popular.

A classic establishment, in a suberb location. However, now faded & tired. All furniture in the lobby needs recovering, marble stairs cracked, lift failed on several occasions (including the time we checked out).
We had read that the fourth floor had been modernised, and so requested it. The floors were very uneven, and had been covered in a thin wooden(?) veneer that creaked loudly with every step. The twin beds were aluminium framed, wooden slats, with folding legs. They also squeaked and creaked. The bedside lights were not individually controlled, and the switch was loose to the point of danger. The TV was an old 14 inch CRT with a tangle of cable to the side.
The legs of the bathroom convenience table had paint peeling and it appeared that rot was starting. The ceiling paint in the bathroom was cracked and peeling. Room overlooked a plaza & so was very noisy because there is no aircon.

This good value traditionally spanish hotel is in a good location close to the main square and the amazing Burgos cathedral which is a must see. Rooms with baths, traditional decor and a comfortable reception area with friendly staff. Parking is in the town underground car parks a couple of hundred yards away as the hotel is in a pedestrianised area. Loads of restaurants and more to see and do than expected close to the hotel. Breakfast is basic and is 6 euros but probably better to have this in the town square instead.
