Recently, we spent three nights at this hotel. It has a very convenient location, very close to the historical center and the bus station, with most of the important sites within walking distance. The rooms are clean if somewhat dated, the decor is sort of special with lots of art pieces and antiques, and the staff was always very friendly and helpful. We also liked the breakfast buffet with lots of good ingredients and even fresh salmon everyday.
By far, the most enjoyable part of our stay was a meal we had at the restaurant which was just excellent. We had the menu of the day and we found it very good, all the food was very well prepared, the service very refined, and the wine served was one of the best we had in all our trip. Surprisingly, the day of our meal, very few people were eating. You also get a discount if you are a guest.
This hotel seems to be preferred by groups of tourist, so be prepared for lots of people moving in and out of the hotel early in the morning and on the evening. Nevertheless there was never any problem with noise.
However, the TVs in the room need to be changed. Nowadays most hotels have modern TV sets and good cable signals with sophisticated controls. This hotel has a very complicated and ancient TV-Cable combination, that is akward, antiquated, and bad in general. This was the only aspect we did not like in an otherwise very pleasant experience.
