I booked here as it promised secure parking, which was important as we were returning to Portugal with a fully laden car from the UK. The parking is round the back of the hotel (river side) and is covered and very secure and not too tight at all. It's a short walk from there to the hotel - about 100 metres? It costs €10.50 per day.
The reception staff were very pleasant and helpful and gave us a nice welcome. Our room was number 325 and although had a dreadful view of an internal courtyard and washing lines, the room itself was very large, clean and comfortable. It included a frdige too, which was useful for storing our hoard of English cheeses. The bathroom had everything you could want and was spotlessly clean.
Only slight downside was that the pillows and mattress seemed very hard and I woke up with crippling back ache each morning, but I've been spoilt with a mattress topper at home. Once I got moving, I was okay.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the main visitor sites and close to lots of restaurants and bars.
The breakfast was very good. There was scrambled egg, bacon and tiny sausages if you wanted hot food and an incredible selection of cakes, cheeses, hams, fruit etc.
I'd definitely recommend this hotel.
