We stayed for one night at this hotel so we could see the cathedral, and break our journey towards the coast. We found it very difficult to locate, and parked the car in a nearby street to make things easier. The welcome and help given by the receptionist was excellent, and we were very grateful that there was a space in the hotel's underground car park. We were given a city map, which we found very confusing; that provided by the Tourist Information Centre was much better. The hotel is full of "collectors items" which give the public areas an air of old world elegance, but the rooms are modern - clean and comfortable but completely out of character with the rest of the hotel. The walls are very poorly soundproofed, and we were able to hear people in the next room very clearly, even though they weren't making excessive noise. We enquired in the afternoon about the evening meal, but when we went down to eat, there was no-one else in the dining room, and the lady in the brasero had to serve us in a different room. The food was adequate, but obviously hurriedly put together. Breakfast was OK.

We've stayed in 7 hotels on this holiday tour. This was probably the least satisfactory.

Stumbled on this hotel while looking for a place to sleep in Burgos after a long day driving. Since it was late at night, we were just looking for a basic place to sleep in the middle of the city, since we wanted to see the majestic Burgos cathedral the next morning.

Check-in was a bit of a mess, we were surprised to be given a key without even giving our credit card. The front-desk clerk, who was also working at the hotel bar, wasn't sure about the paying parking hours on the streets close to the hotel, and informed us that our car was too big to fit in the hotel parking. He also told us the magnetic key could have problems and to see him to help us open our room. He lacked professionalism in his attitude (too casual) and his clothing (dirty). It didn't stop us from booking the night (we were too tired to look somewhere else anyways), but we were wondering what kind of room we'd get. The lobby was quite nice and clean though, which was reassuring.

Price for the night: 60 Euros, including breakfast. Not bad for a downtown hotel. Since it's really in the center of the city (close to bars and terraces), we struggled a little to find a parking space but ended up being fine.

We went to up to our room, and the key didn't work. The clerk came up to open for us. We were glad to find a very nice room in front of us. The beds were very confortable, everything was clean, nice bathroom. Flat screen tv on the wall and free wi-fi. Room was well decorated with cozy colors.

The morning breakfast was nice. Good choices of cereal, juice, tortilla espanola, toast and different pastries. They had a baby seat as well, which was nice and rare in most spanish restaurants we went to. The morning desk clerk was more professional than her night collegue and check-out went by smoothly without any complications.

All in all, nice place. A solid 3 stars.
