We were very much looking forward to staying here after a long trip over to Santander from Portsmouth. We arrived at sunset and the views over Toledo were spectacular. We were greeted by the bad news that we would have to pay 35euros for the night for our small dog to stay with us in the room. This represented almost 50 per cent of the total cost of the room!. The best bit about the room was the bathroom, without a doubt. Sadly enough, the hotel was empty and all comunal rooms lacked atmosphere, particularly the bar where we had some average food compared to the price. We did not have breakfast as this was rather expensive, too. The outdoor swimmng pool was not heated which meant we had to miss it before we departed in the mid morning.
Think carefully about what you expect from a stay at this hotel before you book it!.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the middle of September on a room only basis. The hotel is lovely and a modern design. The rooms are beautiful, large and have a terrace overlooking the garden and the old town of Toledo. The bathroom is also very spacious and spotlessly clean. One thing to beware of is if you are out on the terrace and accidently close the door into the bedroom there is no way you can get back into the bedroom from the terrace unless you can attract the attention of someone to get reception to open the bedroom door and then the terrace door. This happened to someone in the adjoining room.

Although this is a lovely hotel it is not situated very centrally. We like to walk and find our way around but the weather was extremely hot and the road to the hotel is up a slight hill. When you reach the entrance to the hotel there is still a distance to walk, so by the time we got back to our room we were exhausted.

The hotel seemed quite empty and lacking in atmosphere.There seemed to be several couples booking weddings, so maybe it is more appealing for those kind of functions.

If I returned to Toledo, I would prefer to stay somewhere more central and with a bit of atmosphere.

We stayed here as a family of four in April in two adjacent rooms. It was a little hard to find at first. The lobby, grounds and rooms are beautiful. The finishes in the baths are very nice as are the toiletries. The terrace opened out to a fabulous view of the city as well as nicely landscaped paths with plants, trees, etc. Our breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. Once morning we ordered delivery and the next we went to the breakfast room. We generally enjoyed the hotel but we felt a little lonely since it was not crowded during our stay. We counted only six or seven occupied rooms. I think we would have liked it even better had it been a little more lively. The only other negative is that it is really not walking distance to town, but the flip side of that is the amazing views of Toledo from afar. I would recommend this hotel but of course only if you have a car.

I stayed in this hotel in May 2009 (not August 2010 - website does not allow you to enter dates more than a year ago!) for a work conference. The rooms were large and clean and the meals were good. The service was a bit curt and impersonal though and the location is not terribly convenient (especially if you like walking around). If it hadn't been for the conference being there, I think I would rather have stayed somewhere cheaper and with more charm inside the 'old' city.
