Had booked the Hotel Real across the street but was able to cancel on the spot when we arrived from Madrid and discovered that the Hotel Real does not turn on the a/c until June 1. And it was hot during the day!
Walked in Hotel Abad and immediately liked it. Its attributes are handsome rooms, great water pressure in the bath and shower, very nice and helpful staff and superb location. The walk up the hill was not a problem for me. The hotel design is a very appealing mix of ancient and modern, with stainless steel and glass along with exposed brick. The price for Friday night was much more than Thursday night.
Only problem is that the sheets may be polyester, as noted in another review. I slept very well; my wife was a little uncomfortable. The room was quiet. I was not impressed with the buffet breakfast. It was very basic.
