There are no non-smoking rooms, so if you're terribly allergic to that sort of thing, best to check the room first before paying for it. In our case, we had to switch rooms because my pregnant wife couldn't stand the previous occupant's smokey smell s/he was kind enough to leave behind. Our alternative room, however, was great. Large, with a birds-eye view of the bullring. The bathroom was almost as large as our bedroom, and the appointments were nice (soaps, shampoos, big and clean towels, etc.). The breakfast served on the main floor, which we got included with our room price, was also terrific. A true breakfast with bacon, sausage (aka hotdogs), boiled eggs, cereal, fruit, pastries, etc. The lobby is clean and comfortable, and the location just across the bridge from the Old City, was perfect: a 5-minute walk into town (and I wouldn't actually stay in the Old City for the sheer fact that the local teenagers apparently have adopted a habit of racing up and down the small calles on their dirt bikes and tricked out cars at 90 kph beginning around 10pm.)
That said, the front desk staff was clearly "over" tourists, as they treated us like we were invaders about to take over their city (which, in some sense, I suppose we were.) But get over it already--if you're going to work in the hospitality business, try a smile every once in awhile to your guests, who are your bread and butter. For the cold reception alone, I'm not entirely sure I'd want to give this place my business again. I'm sure there are other places just as comfortable with a more well-adjusted staff. But if that doesn't matter to you, with the advisories stated above, I would give this place a cool (not warm) recommendation.
