I've stayed here before but it's had a makeover since I was last there. Got a ground-floor room (great! All right, there are six steps up from the foyer but even I can manage that). The room was clean and comfortable, with a large desk (although power sockets a bit inaccessible) and the bathroom spotless. There's a large bar on the same floor with a most charming barmaid, and they serve excellent cafeteria food after 8:30 pm - I was there for two nights and ate at the hotel both nights. Very good value, too.

Really good hotel, large clean rooms, we had great deal with breakfast and free mini bar included for friday and saturday night. This included alcohol!! Breakfats is typical continental, rooms cleaned efficiently and it is located a 2 minute walk from the centre of the town. All in all very good value for money.

The Hotel was great. Very spacious, excellent room sizes. Always verty clean. The hotel itself seems very new and has that fresh just finished look about it. About a 5 to 10 minute walk from the central part of the town with its shopping, bars, eateries and lovely squares. Not many staff around, but it was to be expected in a town which really does not see much tourism. Bed linen was changed everyday. Had a very comfortable stay here.

I made a reservation to stay at this hotel in July 2010 for three night with restricted conditions including no changes and no cancellations. Unfortunately I made a mistake on dates and meant to book for August. My fault entirely! I freely admit to it.

Upon realising my mistake, about 10 minutes later, I checked the hotel rates for the August dates and the rates were exactly the same. Being optimistic that with the same rates and wanting to stay four instead of three nights, I immediately emailed requesting the change.

NH Ciudad Real turned down the request. This is well within the rights and terms of their offer but my thinking that with the same rate AND me wanting to spend more money with them might convince them to make the change. Alas this isn't the case.

Keep this in mind when thinking about staying at this hotel.
