“You get what you pay for”

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night, and it served it's purpose. A room with a bed and a shower. For €25/room/night one cannot expect much more. The hostal is situated above a petrolstation, next to the highway, which makes it easy to get to by car, but difficult by any other means. Yes, the receptionist was monolingual, but so is 99% of the people in this area, or so it seems at least. Use this hotel if you have access to a car, aren't offended if someone doesn't speak english (speaking louder doesn't help) and you are looking for a place to sleep, not a place to stay.

Or at least they would if they spoke all of the languages they claim to. Nightmare. A 12 euro ten minute taxi drive from the train station brought two weary, hungry travellers to the Hostal golf to find the late night restaurant shut, a room with nylon sheets and a dripping tap, views of a petrochemical plant and a monolingual teenager watching television and handing out room keys. Never ever go here. ever.

I stayed in the place for 2 nights.

The hostel in in the middle of an industrial estate attached to a petrol station.
Ok. some of us like industrial landscapes.
However. This hostal is on NO bus route, No train route and is 5 km and 12 euros in a taxi to Santander.
Although only a couple of Km's from the airport it is still 10 euros in a taxi.

I asked the reception to call a taxi for me and they charged 1 Euro.
