We have stayed here for a single night on two separate occasions when arriving off the ferry in the evening and when waiting to return. It's ideal as parking is easy and it's only a 5-10 min drive to the ferry port. Hotel staff are very welcoming and do speak English.

The rooms are very modern and clean and there is a restaurant/cafe bar attached for either formal meals or snacks. The very friendly locals use the cafe/bar as well so it has a very traditional feel. There is also a very handy supermarket and garage close by.

Be careful if using Tom Tom as you will end up about a mile from the hotel if you do. We had to ask very helpful locals for directions. and I was told this is a common problem

The best thing about this hotel is the very helpful, friendly staff (although it does help if you speak a bit of Spanish.) The rooms were comfortable apart from the lack of air conditioning - the hotel's website says most rooms have it but the 2 rooms that my party had did not and it was a very warm week. So best to check. Also - the hotel is in a residential area and has a bar and large dining rooms - so at weekends it is noisy until early morning. Also - the binmen/recycling people came at about 1 a.m. - quite normal for Spain but a bit of a shock for us. The breakfast buffet was good - and the overall price very reasonable. Also lots of parking.
The buses into Santander are frequent and very comfortable and cheap - stops either in front of sports ground or at the seminario a couple of roundabouts away. Santander is a great place and the area around is lovely.

Finding Chateau La Roca was a bit tough even with sat nav, but thankfully I'd looked at the ariel view on their web site so knew how to get to it from the autovia junction.
Room was great, simple, clean. It was also totally wheelchair accessible as Beatrice had said on the phone when booking. Nice smellies in the bathroom too.
60 euros for a double room on a busy end of summer holiday weekend.

Used this hotel as a stop over after disembarking from the ferry in Santander early evening. Road works in the town made following the directions awkward although if you follow signs for S20 and leave at junction 2 it is really easy to find. Ideally situated for leaving on the motorway network as you are outside the main town and almost in the countryside.
Loads of free parking as it is in a quiet residential area, make sure you fill up at the Shell garage next to the hotel - cheapest we saw on journey right down to Seville.
Good food and reasonble prices, locals will come and practice their English
