Overall we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is clean and nice, but no frills. The bed was very big, which we liked. The location was great right next to the bus station. I felt it was a little overpriced, but I guess most hotels in the area are. Some of the staff was very helpful, and others weren't at all. We arrived before checkin time and though I was quite certain they had rooms available (based on just booking one day earlier and them having availability for the nights before), we were told it wasn't time for check-in and to return later. That wasn't ideal, but I guess it was fair since they do publish check-in times. The best part of the hotel was the location.

Stayed here at the end of our trip around northern Spain so we could get on the ferry to Plymouth with minimum hassle and it paid off. Nice hotel with friendly staff made our stay really nice especially the tips about where to eat. Its only 5 minutes from the ferry terminal so it was really great for us. One point of warning is that parking can be difficult near the hotel but in the summer I guess it’s difficult anywhere in Santander.

The Abba is located near the main tourist strip of Santander (near the local cafes and ferry terminal). All in all, it’s a pretty convenient location for a stopover or extended stay. The hotel is clean and modern and the rooms are comfortable. Parking is available at the nearby underground car park at towards the ferry terminal, however with the one way streets finding the entrance is quite fun.

Abba doesn’t miss a branding opportunity and expect to see more logos than you have fingers and toes. Given the smells, furnishings and overall finish, it appears that the hotel has undergone a soft refurbishment in the past months. Everything was incredibly clean.

The room (twin for 2) was quite large and best of all, the small balcony lets you watch the local life of Santander come to life in the morning over an in-room coffee. The room had also had TV and a trouser press (good luck figuring out how to use it though).

Overall, I’d recommend this property if you’re looking for a convenient, quiet and uninterrupted stay in Santander. It’s a solid 3 star property and within walking distance to harbour tour embarkation points, fantastic local cafes and tapas joints.

This place was practical, functional and in a great location for the price we paid, but nothing special.

Close to the ferry terminal, bus station and main attractions of Santander it is walking distance to most of the points of interest. We were lucky enough to score the last free parking bay out the front of the hotel as another guest pulled out, and dared not move our car until we departed. The bloke on the reception counter was a miserable old codger, who I had to explain to, blow by blow, what I was doing in the reception of his hotel, just in case he couldn't guess from cases we were carrying with us, and me presenting myself by name and with passport! Needless to say, I did my best not to cross paths with him for the rest of our stay!

The rooms are small, clean and basic, but this was one of very few places we stayed which didn't have free wireless internet.

If you're looking for somewhere middle of the road with a good location, nothing special, clean, practical and not too expensive then this is the place for you.
