No one advised us that the North of the Island is the coolest in winter.
The cost of transfers was going to be extortionate so we hired a car. Were really glad about this as we were able to get around the whole island sight seeing as the weather sadly was not good!!
Anyway the hotel was very clean although old fashioned and in great need of a refurbish. The rooms were lovely and clean and fresh towls daily as well as maid service.
we were two of 6 Brits staying there but we made our own entertainment.
The food was reasonable fresh salad daily with choice of two meats pasta and something for kids(None there when we stayed though)
The restaurant and bar staff could not do enough for us. We were offered wine, beer or soft drink with our food every day both lunch and evening meals. The plates were removed as soon as you finished and the staff were friendly.
This hotel is a walk to the beach and views were pretty naff. One of the best things was that there is no parking near the hotel but they kindly let us park in their carpark and didnt charge us the €5 they had quoted us per day.

Having just returned from the Xibana park, and not being able to find any English reviews prior to going, i thought i'd write a little something.

Xibana Park is not a luxurious or lavish hotel by any stretch of the imgination but it thoroughly deserves its 3 stars.

Rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with maid service and clean towels every day if you want them.

Food was a bit on the reptitive side, but no worse than any other 3 or 4 star All Inclusive hotels i have stayed in. Good selection of salad, meat, fish, spanish dishes such as paella and of course chips. Could do with labelling some of the dishes as it wasnt always possible to tell what the meat was (i suspect i ate rabbit one day thinking it was chicken)

Staff were friendly and polite

Evening entertainment was a bit of a let down, rubbish drag queen show one night. Same organist playing the oldies but goldies every other night, however this hotel does seem to cater for the more mature guest, mainly spanish and they seemed to enjoy themselves. Not sure if i would reccomend for families who are looking for their children to be entertained, however this maybe different during the summer months.

Location wise, couldnt have been better, located on a fairly busy road minutes walk away from the old town in one direction and a shopping centre with supermarket in another. The Lago Martinez (apologies if thats spelt wrong) complex is only 5 minutes walk away and a great place to spend the day and there are plenty of bars and restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

i loved Puerto De La Cruz, and will definitely return, would be nice to up my budget a little and stay somewhere a bit fancier, however the Hotel Xibana Park was perfect for what we were looking for, which was a cheap week away in the sun and that is what we got. Dont go expecting 5 star luxury as you will be disappointed, however, to coin a phrase which i think a lot of people forget when booking budget/bargain breaks... You get what you pay for!
