I stayed here with my family for a week in May 2006. The apartments were strangely very quiet, and although it was early in the season, we couldn't work out why there didn't seem to be any other guests! It seems that many of the apartments at the Molino Blanco are infact apartments that people own or have a time share to. This meant that the hotel in general had very little holiday atmosphere. And every night of our holiday, we were the only people sitting in the restaurant. I must say though, that the chef on site is a very good cook, and made us tasty meals all week!
My family and I shared a large two bedroom apartment which had views over the swimming pool. Although the rooms were very spacious and well equipped, ( saucepans, plates and any utensil you could need) they were really extremely dated as if in a throwback to the 70's. Also, we found that some of the light fixtures were loose, and we could see the wires poking out of some.
The hotel is a long walk into Puerto town centre, and was a very long walk back uphill for my Mum who puffed and sweatted her whole way back up the hill! Definitely not for anyone remotely out of shape!
I am not a fussy traveller, and I don't normally care what kind of hotel I stay in, as I don't spend much time in the hotel anyway. However I would not recommend this hotel as it completely lacks the atmosphere you normally feel of a hotel - buzzing with families, and children jumping in the pool. If you are looking for somewhere quiet, then this is for you.
