We booked a last minute stressbuster week at the H10 Tenerife Playa. We had a twin superior room with balcony overlooking the sea on one side and the street on the other, great for people watching. The hotel seemed fully booked. It was Saga week but that didn't matter and we had a few laughs. Entertainment was okay and on every night. The food was very good and the very nice dining room along with the rest of the hotel was spotless. There was well presented tables with linen cloths and napkins set for buffet lunch and dinner. The swimming pool area could have used a good steam clean but the pools were sparkling. The reception staff at the beginning looked like they could use some 'smile' training but they soon warmed up and were very helpful, the rest of the staff were very friendly. (maybe it depends on your attitude to them ) Bar staff were funny and chatty, the maid was very nice and kept our room spotless. Restaurant staff were brilliant. The beds we had weren't the most comfy and would be better if they were just a bit softer. The small gardens round the hotel are well maintained and there's fruit growing on the trees. The snack bar is close to the pool and is well stocked, has plenty snack food chilled and covered, also hot food when you ask for it, alcohol, coffee, chocolate and tea on offer all day, self service. The location is pretty good but don't be fooled by the lovely picture that looks like there's a beautiful beach in front of the hotel....there isn't. It's the Lido you see in the photo , it is gorgeous and opposite the hotel so very easy to get to. You pay an entry fee for the day and get sunbeds, showers, bars and restaurant with ice cream shop too. It's also very clean and has well manicured gardens to walk round. There are plenty of local shops and bars, restaurants and walks. We walked for miles round the old town, very interesting. The bus ride from the airport is about 1 hour and 15 minutes or more depending on the hotel stops. We would recommend H10 but maybe go a bit later in the year when it heats up. It was very cool and windy early in the day but warmed up by lunchtime. When the sun left the pool area in the late afternoon, we found little secluded balconies at the side of the building on every floor to grab the last rays of the day. We were very relaxed by the end of the week.
