Don't have much experience with packages but here goes:

Good points:
Clean rooms and no cockroaches- too many lizards perhaps..
Good range of main meals
Excellent pool and poolside and well lit at night.
Quiet
Good view if you are on the outside.
Car rental guy and 35 euro day rental with no faff
Cheap available taxis- 3-4 euro to town centre- don't know why anyone would walk up (or down) the hill

Some staff clued up and some a bit hopeless. German predominant second language

Corny inhouse entertainment in the evenings.
Beach too far and not very good
Slightly overly German-oriented food buffet- pork in various versions. Not enough fresh fruit and veg. Not enough seafood. No OJ (somehow even though it's cheap and available at the nearby corner bar) Poor wine. Tables cleared constantly.
No plug sockets in room aprt from bathroom. Bring a 4 block and adaptor.
Cleaning service forgot to replace things.
Slightly pricy for drinks inhouse- try the local bar / shop for great service and prices-40metres away

Other: The town is a bit quiet in the evening before 11pm. The weather is unpredictable- go further south for more consistent weather. Try the pool complex in town on the sea-fron-it's excellent. Shopping not great. Bars with interesting views are plentiful.

The Hotel itself is good with many facilities (some such as the well equiped gym charge extra 25 Euros per week). The outdoor pool area was v. good as was the roof terrace. Before arriving we contacted the hotel and asked to be put in a room close to the roof terrace and we were about a 20 second walk away - brilliant.

The rooms were of a good size with free use of a small fridge. The bathrooms were a bit dated and contained the only power socket. The rooms were kept very clean with the daily maid service.

The staff on reception were not overly helpful and the information provided in the room could be improved upon.

Having read other comments regarding the food I thought they were probably over reacting - they weren't. I have been to similar hotels before and the buffets have always been acceptable. The food quality was poor, there was little or no thought given to its preparation with meat often overdone and dry & chewy. There was little variation and by the end of the fortnight we had had more than enough.

Our final gripe has nothing to do with the hotel, but certainly spoilt the holiday. The weather was terrible for the whole holiday. As a result of which we hired a car (which can be done in the hotel reception for 20 euros a day) and spent 10 days commuting to the South of the Island where the sun was shining. If you're looking for a sunshine holiday don't go here. We would recommed the Fanabe Costa Sur in the South - a similar hotel with much better food.

thought the food was very very bland and quite disappointing - have had better food in 3* hotels. Tried the fish one night and it was quite uneatable and also something which could only be described as reconstituted bits of all sorts under the guise of some sort of burger. Having said that the hotel itself was very nice, well looked after and always clean. The room we were in was very large and comfortable. Location not really a problem if you are fit and healthy. All in all enjoyed our stay but the food lets down the hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 10 days and really enjoyed it. The room, view, food were absolutely fantastic! The only thing we did not like that the hotel is located rather far away from the beach. The road to the hotel is quite hilly, but the hotel offers free shuttle service. There is free Wi-Fi internet access (only works at the reception site) which is very nice. We would definitely come back to this hotel.
