Stayed 8-15 Jan on all inc which was well worth the extra,food good but could have been hotter,the thing that was odd to us (we are 64 & 66 resp) was that the place was dead the bar was probably the most empty hotel bar we have ever been in and on 2 occassions we were the only people in there at 12pm.Either everyone was elsewhere or in bed(probably the later).Enjoyed Costa De La Cruz particularly the local music in the bars in town

We stayed here half board on a Thomson package holiday.
The hotel is very conveniently located just one block from the bus station - ideal for those bus trips out to explore the island.
Our room was very nice, plenty of room with a small balcony which had a nice view of Teide (when there were no clouds!). Some people might have found the beds a bit on the firm side, but it didn't stop us from sleeping solidly all night. There was a room safe of the standard electronic combination hotel type, which cost 2 euros a day. I've no idea how they worked out if you used it, unless the maid checked to see if it was locked. There was a mini bar which was locked and cost 13 euros to use. Ours was on all of the time we were there, so I can't really see why there should be a charge to use it. Where is the extra cost to the hotel? No matter, because if you want a cold beer or soft drink there is a small supermarket just outside or a larger SuperCor supermarket just along the road, near the bus station, which has a better selection and some nice chilled wines.
The television had a large selection of channels, but unfortunately most were in Spanish or German. I suppose this makes sense, as most of the people in Puerto de la Cruz are either Spanish or German tourists! The English channels were the two action channels Movies4Men and Movies4Men2, CNBC (if you're interested in US business) and the execrable BBC World News. CNN was there but pixelated and poor quality.
We found the buffet-style meals to be very good. Breakfast had a good selection of fresh and dried fruit, cereals, eggs, bacon etc. Delicious fresh bread and rolls, plus those various coloured breads, cakes, cheeses and processed meats which continental Europeans prefer for breakfast. A particular delight was the freshly made omelettes (cheese & ham filling) prepared while you wait. Some previous reviews have commented about the fruit juices not being fresh - well, what do they expect from a machine? Fresh orange juice can be had from the fresh oranges, if that's what you want.
Evening meals had a good selection - 2 soups, a large choice of salads and plenty of choices of hot meals. There were always freshly grilled fish/meats available and most nights were themed around a different nationality (Greek, Mexican, Italian etc.) as well as local Canarian meals. Desserts were very nice - jellies, ice cream, gateaux etc. We often had problems choosing what to eat. I think that if you can't find something which you want to eat from the selection available, you must be a very fussy eater.
We found all of the hotel staff which we came into contact with to be very pleasant - the staff at reception, in the dining room, at the bar. Even the maid wished us 'adios' as we left.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
(And incidentally, we found that the Thomsom rep (David) was also very good - reliable and very knowledgeable about the area.)

We stayed from 27th January to the 3rd of February. We paid £480 each- all inclusive with Thompsons. Arrived in time for evening meal on first night.
Our room was on the first floor, with views of Mount Teide, and the Sea, so, a good room.
The hotel was clean and tidy.
I have to say that even though I am 60 years old, I felt a bit young. The entertainment was mostly geared for people with more mature tastes than mine.
The food was mostly good, though a little unimagineative. We never had any problems with finding a table.
Puerto de la Cruz is a lovely place, but we hired a car and saw most of Tenerife. A beautiful island. A trip up Mount Teide is a must.

We had ten nights here 3rd to 13th Jan 2012.Evening entertainment was a bit disapointing, but everything else was very good.We had inland view on the tenth floor, and sun on balcony from early till late afternoon, with wonderful views of Teide, and hills First visit to North Tenerife,both really liked it. Puerto de la Cruz is a lovely Spanish town,and wish the hotel had been nearer to the center.Food was very good for the price we paid, and the all inclusive package was well worth the upgrade.The animation staff, one only was a very friendly, lovely lady who took us on a walking tour of the town, and also did a brilliant aerobics class most days. Would return if price was right.Must commend reception staff, who were very helpful,friendly and efficient with all the different nationalities who were holidaying .
