We saw this hotel on our first trip the Tenerife and promised ourselves a stay there on our next trip. We were not disappointed. The quality of the hotel, facilities and food are excellent.

Whilst at the premium end of pricing for the Island, it represents good value, particularly in the context of other Leading Hotels of the World destinations.

What sets it apart is the friendly (without being over familiar) staff. Somehow, the attitude of the staff seems just right. They are all very approachable, obliging and nothing seems too much trouble. Everything is handled in a relaxed, yet efficient manor.

Like us, the majority of the guests were seniors, but there were some families who were having a good time. Whilst it might be considered a little formal by some, it is not at all stuffy.

This hotel is an excellent place. This is the bottom line. Friendly and very caring staff, an fantastic (!!! and I mean it) breakfast buffet, nice, spacey rooms with balconies and nice views. Rates are OK, good value for money.

The beds need some work ... they kind of slip apart (two single beds put together).

But its maybe more an hotel for 50+ travelllers. I kind of felt uncomfortable playing at the (wonderful) pool with my 6 years old son ... getting eyebrows from elderly people looking to relax there. But we all survived and when I travel without my son to that area again, I will surely stay there as well.

This is our second visit to the Botanica. We were only able to spend 2 days here in Nov 2010 but vowed to come back because we loved it so much. Now in January of 2012 we are enjoying an even better view of the beautiful gardens, swimming pool, and Mt. Teide. Our private balcony has comfortable chairs and little table. The single most impressive thing about this hotel has to be the service. We have been plagued by little travel related problems and the staff have gone way above and beyond their duty in helping us. That has been the icing on the cake of lovely large rooms, beautifully comfortable beds with a choice of pillow preference, a door between the bedroom and the entry hall/bathroom area, and fantastic television choices to boot. The huge buffet breakfast is almost perfect, and the chef will cook an omlete of your choice while you wait, or even pancakes. There is something for everyone. We love sitting outside by the pool, and spend at least 2 hours enjoying the ambiance. Dinner at la Papagallo was a disappointment, but we know from last year we will enjoy the Oriental, so are looking forward to that. Also there are numerous small (mostly German run) bars and cafes within a 5 minute walk. We will definitely be back.
