First the good - the hotel was clean and the staff polite and attentive. The gardens were lovely and the pools spotless. There was a good hot and cold buffet selection for breakfast. Our first room had no heating despite being told that it would warm up after 5 mins and we froze that night even with blankets. The next day the hotel admitted the heating was broken and moved us to another room where the heating also didn't work but had the added problem of a balcony door which rattled and banged all night in the wind. There was no mini bar and no room service. The first room didn't even have a fridge. We ate in the hotel restaurant one night out of the five we were thee and the buffet food was very poor.
On New Years Eve we returned to the hotel after a day out and found that the outside bar was closed and the main bar wouldn't be open for another hour. All we wanted was a coffee! With no mini bar, room service, or even vending machine we couldn't believe that we would have to take a taxi back in to town to get a drink. After much complaining we were given some water. Later that night after a meal out we returned at 11.30 for a drink in the bar to see in the New Year. We were then told that we could only have a drink if we paid 45 euros each as they had an open bar! We only wanted one drink and, as with earlier, they had absolutely no facilities for any other refreshments to be served. Again, after much complaining and assertiveness we were allowed to order a drink at the usual cost. Although the room was spacious, the decor was quite dated. TV was a little challenging as only a couple of buttons on the remote worked which was fine ..... as all the channels were either german or spanish with the exception of the news channel!
