Stayed here for 3 nights...the hotel was in a great location. The staff were very helpful, lovely clean rooms. Went bed and breakfast and there was a good choice of menu ranging from fruit, cereal, to cooked meals ie, bacon, sausage, egg, beans etc...

The hotel itself was a bit noisy, but that was more to do with the people and not the hotels fault.

Just down from the hotel was all the nightlife you could want, lots of bars and restaurants to choose from.

All the people I met on this trip were very friendly, but the downside to my stay was the black men who try to sell their stuff, and they don't care whether you are eating your meal or in conversation, they ran off when they saw the police so it is obviously an on going concern that should be dealt with along with the restaurant owners who should ask them to leave their customers alone.

I would definitely go back to this part of the Island again.

We ordered this hotel via intuition... and were very pleased.
Rooms very clean though a little cramped. Location was very good - a walking distance from all main attractions and the central bus station, but quiet all the same.
Unfortunatley the hotel doesn't have any a/c, and our room was facing the west, so one night was a bit hot - a point to consider if you plan on staying here during mid-summer.
Breakfast was also decent, though a bit boring.
The walls aren't sound proof and if you have any noisey neighbours than you might be in some trouble at night. Also, there is a school near by so if you plan on sleeping late on the morning, there is a good cahnce the noise will wake you up.
The staff was more than friendly, every request filled immidiatly, always with a broad smile.
The room was spotless and cleaned everyday. Safe at a reasonable deposit (1 Euro per day).
Over all - I would go back, worth it's value.

Given our requirements - a quiet, relaxed holiday in a beautiful location, but near to shops and facilities - we couldn't have done better than the Hotel Chimisay.
It's right in the heart of the pedestrianised old town area of Puerto de la Cruz, just five minutes walk from the beautiful Plaza del Charco and the sea front. Shops, cafes and cinemas are all to hand.
Because it's a small hotel (67 rooms only) it has a pleasant, relaxed family feel.
Service and food are excellent, especially the Canarian rabbit dishes served at the evening buffet - and if you don't like rabbit there are always other meat or fish alternatives served.
During out fortnight most of the holidaymakers were Spanish, German or Scandinavian - so we had an even quieter time than expected!
I only had one small criticism of the food - jams served at breakfast, but no orange marmalade!
Most of the rooms in this hotel have no balconies. There are a few of the rooms on the 4th floor with balconies, but we were told that these are always fully booked by 'regulars' throughout the winter season. However, there are some good rooms on the first floor with outside patios that get plenty of sun in the daytime. It's a good idea to ask for one of these when you book - unless you prefer a street view.

The finest feature of the hotel is the spacious sun roof, with plenty of loungers, cushions and sunshades, and a small well-maintained pool. During our stay the pool heating equipment was being renovated, but the cool swims were refreshing after a dose of hot sun.

Everything in this hotel is clean and well maintained.
