Chosen for its location within an easy 10 minute walk to the central bus station and the
western edge of the main shopping quarter with its lovely coffee houses, bars, and inexpensive internet/phone shop. The public rooms, lifts and the building itself is rather 'dated' but is beginning to have a 'retro' feel ! Lovely secluded pool area and quiet during the day and night . . . . being opposite the central police station. Bedroom and en-suite bathroom were clean and comfortable.

room was not 4 star but half board facillities were excellent (breakfast and dinner)staff were freindly and polite,our only dissapointment was there was no shuttle service from the airport (south) which is a good 30 miles away to the hotel,there is some building work going on next to the astro turf pitch beachside but if you could ignore that a pleasent stay,the resort has great walks east along the beach and a short walk to lorro park wich is a must when you get to the island 32 euros each but worth every penny for the sea lion show alone not to mention the dolphin show and killer whale show,this park is awsome. the main town purto de la cruz is huge well worth going to and the beach front is very good ,there is a beach front complex so you can bathe swim or play in man made pools instead of the sea,but the sea front is very picturesque.we went over xmas 2010 the weather was gorgeous with tempratures well in there 20 s everyday,cant wait to return

Fairly standard SolMelia **** hotel; perhaps a bit lower quality than some others, but also significantly cheaper, there's a message there! We paid 1800 euros for two weeks half board, for a family of five; the hotel is clean and comfortable and worth easily twice that. I suspect it's cheap because it's not used by tour operators (nowhere to park a coach!) and seems to be used mainly by Spanish people on holiday from the mainland.

Hotel staff are excellent, and possibly the best location you can get in P de la C if you want to go to the natural beaches and Loro Parque, and like to look out over the sea. (Half the rooms don't, you need to pay a little extra) About a kilometre from town centre/Lago Martianez, and various nice ways to walk in each direction.

Hotel food is basic, but if you like Spanish/Canarian food there's always something nice freshly cooked; the stock British/German lookalike food is frankly school-dinnerish, but if you feel you need that in Spain then you should go somewhere else anyway - P de la C isn't for you! Unlike many resorts, there's a huge choice of lovely Spanish bistros and restaurants in the town... you'd be as well to speak a little Spanish though. We only got half board because it was so cheap - we intended to eat in the hotel only if the kids were tired at night, but in fact we ate in the hotel most of the time.

Local hints if you go: good car hire just across the road; El Cardumen diving centre, just up the hill, is fantastic, as is the local diving; best place for good tapas is the bistro with red umbrellas in Punto Playa, in the little square opposite Loro Parque entrance; the best things are only on the Spanish menu. (Mejillones are great!)

Agree with most of the derogatory comments,. Was Fairly good reception as the Maitre D at dinner. Breakfast was acceptable. However the place Was inundated with Young People who Did not know how to Behave. To cap it all Were the young ones sat on the steps of the hotel smoking and making it very Difficult for guests to enter.
