“Worst holiday ever!”

I am sorry but I felt I had to write this place a review....it may have changed since we went back in 2007. We arrived to chips a kebab smammed all over the steps leading to our apartment. Ah the apartment....disgusting is the only word I can use! Cockroachs roaming freely, shutters to window hanging on hinges, basic furniture in tatters, we got moved three times and it never improved! We had an attempt break in, there was fighting outside in the corridors, lager fueled 18 years olds partying until 6am. I ended up at reception crying as I just wanted to go home by the fourth night. There were locals living on the complex at t the time and this just seemed a rundown place to let anyone stay the tour operator should have been penalised for representing this place. My husband and I ended up paying to use another hotels swimming pool area every day just to get away from it all. This experience has put me off visiting Tenerife every again. I have travelled the world and backpacked, this should give you some idea how bad this place was......I am not a narrow minded traveller.

“Privately owned apartments, great location, on the flat!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 August 2010

I bought on Orlando in December 2007, not realising what a rubbish reputation it had through 18 - 30 holidaymakers using it previously. 3 years ago the majority of apartments were privately let out to local workers and this brought problems with washing machines going all night, people showering late at night after a shift, etc. In the last 12 months I have noticed fewer workers and more holidaymakers (either owners like me, or their friends & family) using the complex. There is 24 hour security, a good level of cleanliness, a lifeguard by the pool, but no bar, snack bar or nightclub. This is good news for me; all this can be found within a short stroll from the complex anyway! What attracted, and still attracts me, is the situation of the apartment block mid-way between Torviscas Playa/Puerto Colon (normal) and Fanabe Playa (posh/expensive catering to the North Europeans). The best thing of all 'though is it is on the flat (as much as can be in this area). No dragging up big hills e.g. if you were staying on the other side of the "Motorway" or up in the heights of Los Christianos. Bus station 10 min. walk away so all parts of the island easily accessible too.

“basic but great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 August 2008

the hotel is self catering, the rooms are basic but clean and the amenities are all there. the lifts are a bit temperamental so often invloves a hefty walk up flights of steps to get back to your room but it all adds to the fun of the night out. the pools are ideal, there is the main pool beside the bar which often gets very busy, a second smaller pool which is often quite and a kids pool. the drinks are great value only a euro or two a pint. music is played round the pool all day giving it a great atmosphere. the staff are all english speaking and are very helpfull.

the only downside to the rooms are the lack of air conditioning which isnt ideal in temperatures in excess of 90 degrees, you can hire a fan from reception which helps a bit but its not great.

the hotel's entertainment is rather non existent, but the nightlife in the centre only a five minute walk away, is great, also the hotel is only about a ten fifteen minute walk away from the beach.

i went on this holiday with familly ranging from 14- 40, the resort is ideal for teens, young adults and the more mature if they like having a good laugh and the nightlife, however not to good for younger kids as there isnt much to entertain them.

overall i really enjoyed my stay at the hotel its only rated 2* and you get what you pay for, and here you get everything you would expect from a 2 star resort plus a bit more. Great Value and a Great time.

Would reccomend to most wanting a funfilled or partying holiday at a good price, but not to families with young kids or the elderley as the high volume of steps would be a nightmare for the less abled. also you are left to lug your own bags to your apartment regardless of the time of day or night so be prepared lol

  • Liked — convenience to the main nightlife and entertainment, good value for money and good pool scene
  • Disliked — no air conditioning

“Please take another look”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2007

I would like to say to people who have stayed here in the past when Thomson owned most of the resort - please take another look.
As mentioned by a previous posting the resort is now private and all the apartments are privately owned - so its up the owner how clean and well decorated they are.
The bar is not open and there is no on site entertainment - so yes a good nights sleep is had. Security is good and extreme noise, unsightly rubish, dirty environment will not be tolerated.
The resort is cleaned daily and the Pools are cleaned daily, both to a good standard.
Entertainment can be sort in the local bars and round the corner is Amanda's and the Toucan Bar both offering live acts.
Walk a short walk and Fanabe front or Puerto Colon are available for good food and entertainment, Beeches too.
There are steps, but also a slope is available to reach the back apartments which offer good views.
