“Comfortable hotel, excellent view from the seaside rooms”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Impressive hall with fresh flowers and friendly reception. Asked for a baby bed in stead of an extra bed for our two-year old and it was in our room 15 minutes later. Very clean rooms, beautiful view to the Atlantic from the seaside room's terrace. Breakfast was good, and the staff friendly. Excellent location next to Paseo las Canteras and the beach.

Room Tip: Seaside rooms are more expensive, but worth it. The other side faces to street. Bathroom was renewed...

As ever a great holiday experience on the beachfront sun bed provided, Reccommend you try some of the Tapa Bars at the hotel entrance ( where car park is located)

“My favorite hotel in the islands”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2011

I've flown back and forth from the Canary Islands for more than 40 years, and when in Las Palmas I always stay at the Reina Isabel. It is right on the waterfront of the famous Las Canteras beach, with a great boardwalk than runs for more than a mile.

I have never seen a hotel restaurant with a greater slection of fine food than in the Reina Isabel, and it comes included with the room rate. If fact, I often eat such a heavy breakfast there that I skip lunch that day! (I am the author of HOW TO BE INVISIBLE and am doing a major revision in the book for 2012. This trip was for last-minute information about the islands, as in my new book I will recommend the Canaries as one of the two best places to move to, for Americans who plan to move out of the USA.)

Room Tip: Be sure to order an ocean-view room, at least five stories up.

“a saga.”

hotel was impressive on entering, reception very good thanks to karen, location cant be beaten. room facing the sea was of a good size his and hers washing facilities, seperate loo, and kept clean each day, breakfast good, if you stand long enough while eggs etc are cooked to order. evening meals we found to be substandard for a hotel this size large variety but badly cooked and some containers often empty staff in the CANTEEN could not handle pressure. no entertainment other than music on a tuesday night which was filled up with locals who resented you pinching there seats, spa brilliant and free, holiday and hotel overall was good but very quiet and boring and we are in our late 60s, ideal for beach lovers and promenade zombies.

Room Tip: high floor and seaview is a must, but £14 per night each.

“Good value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

I have visited this hotel many times - and there are lots of repeat guests which speaks for itself..

Room was comfortable, breakfast excellent and fantastic sunbathing area on the roof. Staff are friendly and helpful. The hotel has a brilliant new spa which will be a great asset. Hard to see why this is four stars and the Melia (now mysteriously called La Christina - has five - I have stayed there and its not a patch on the Reina!)

One word of warming if you want to enjoy your holiday with your luggage - Las Palmas airport frequently deliver bags tothe wrong carasol - check all before reporting anything missing - the airport is littered with odd cases where they have obviously done this and people believe their bags lost.

Room Tip: Sea view rooms are best
