The hotel was as advertised very near the beach however the only sea view was from the hotel "restaurant". The rooms over looked the narrow road on which the hotel is located, however by sticking your head out the window you could see the beach from your "balcony" (which was in fact an enclosed space with windows separated from the room by a sliding door.). The room its self was a fairly reasonable size, plainly decorated but the bed cover was a rather unappealing blue cotton drape. The bathroom was a little small, a plain white suite with a decent sized bath (with shower overhead) the room was reasonably clean.(cleaning staff friendly and always busy) The restaurant was the biggest disappointment. Breakfast was quite good, the was a basic selection of hot foods and hot beverages, different cereals, with a large selection of fruit and some yoghurts. Dinner was pretty bad, a random selection of hot foods that were unlabelled and either far too salty or pretty bland in my opinion. Although we were half board we only ate dinner once and even then we went out to find something better. The Staff were friendly but only the reception staff spoke any English. The pool is on the roof, it is a decent size and there is plenty of space and deckchairs to sit around and lounge about in the sun, also being so high up gave amazing views of the town below and mountains/coastline in the distance.
The location as mention above was very good. The beach (Las Canteras) was amazing, named the best on the island and it deserved the title. With amazing views of the hills to either side and a promenade of many shops, restaurants etc. The main bus station is about a 5 -10 min walk and there was a shopping mall and museum in the same area. The only thing was the majority of tourist attractions were in or around maspalomas in the south (the other end of the island) which was a 2hr bus journey away. Given the choice wouldn't stay again but wasn't that bad
