We returned from a week at this hotel on 23rd January. We had an enjoyable week on a Thompson holiday. The food was varied and plentiful. At breakfast you could have bacon, tasty bacon chops, scrambled egg, sausages, etc.Chefs cooked fried eggs, various omelettes or pancakes to order. There was a wide choice of rolls, cheeses, hams, salad and also cereals and yogurts. As we went out most days we were not back for the mid-day meal but as well as eating in the main restaurant you could eat in one next to the sunbed/pool area. From 10.30am they served burgers, sandwiches, soup, salad, chips. When we returned in the afternoon they also had nice deserts. The staff work really hard and are very quick to replace food they consider to have been left too long and getting cold. There was a wide choice for the evening meal. You shouldn't be put off by having to queue for the restaurant. They clear tables in sections and call several families at a time to be seated. There was a good selection of free drinks in the restaurant and bars.
The hotel is in a central position. If you turn left out of the hotel and walk straight down the road you will come to the prom. The easiest way to get to the beach is by a lift to the right which takes you to a little shopping centre and then there are a few steps to walk down. There is a nice walk to San Agustin to the left and we also walked to the right through the dunes (yes there are a lot of nudists!) to Meloneras. We also got the bus right outside the hotel to Puerto Rico and Playa de Mogan - definitely worth a visit. We also had a Thompson trip to the heart of Gran Canaria, round mountainous roads, which was good.
We enjoyed the entertainment in the piano bar but we are in our 60s and this probably wouldn't be to youngsters' taste. They tend to play music for dancing to suit nationalities staying there, ie. mostly Spanish, Germans and English. The other bar had some good acts. We saw a parrot show, Elvis, etc. tribute act by two male singers accompanied by two lady dancers and a good magician. We did not venture far at night but I would imagine there would be a wide variety of entertainment in the lively town of Playa del Ingles to suit all tastes.
We had no fault with our room except the walls were very thin and it is people who let the doors bang - they can be closed quietly if you don't let them go! It was very clean, as was the whole hotel.Towels were changed daily and sheets about every two to three days. The only other small problem was the lifts! There are three but they take only six and you can wait a while for them especially when people are taking cases up and down or at meal times. As we were on the fourth floor we could walk it now and then but there are seven floors!
To sum up, this hotel was very good value for money.
Room Tip: Maybe you should chose a lower floor if you have to rely on lifts.
