Overall we had a very enjoyable and relaxing 2 weeks here - Cala N Bosch is a resort very much for families. I would have said 80-90% of those around the resort were families.
The Tamariscos served our purposes - the apartments are on a par with most average self catering apartments anywhere in the Med. They are basic but for this type of holiday, that suits us fine. Others have mentioned not having kettle or toaster which you have to hire but we did without. Looking at it from another angle, particularly in the Greek islands you usually have to hire the air con for the two weeks but here it is included. Cleaning service a bit hit & miss - second week we went 3 days without a maid coming. She then came the final day before we were leaving and did the best clean of the whole 2 weeks, no doubt angling for a tip!
We had a 1 bed apt which was fine for us with our two children aged 9 & 6. Families with older children or more than 4 of you would probably need a 2 bed.
The location is the big attraction - right next to the beach and short stroll to the marina. Two decent sized pools but they could do with updating the sunbeds round the pool overlooking the beach - many did not have 'backs' to them that you could raise up and they also need a few more sun shades as there was not enough to go round.
The beach is small and does get very busy as a result although it is very wide. We found it best to go across to the far side and back from the actual shoreline so you felt as though you had a bit more personal space! We didn't bother with the sunbeds on the beach - we bought a sunshade from the shops (9euros) and used that. Also if you are based round by the pool you can wander down to the sea in 30 secs anyway. Snorkelling was good, lots of fish around for the children to see.
The Marina is a very nice area to go in the evenings where all the restaurants, bars and shops are. We ate mainly at Bahia which was really good - we tried others such as Mr Jaume, El pato, Piccola all of which were okay but the food was consistently good at Bahia and the staff really friendly. On average a meal with drinks for 4 of us was in the region of 30-40 euros depending on what you had. Fish was quite expensive.
Couple of times I wandered down late afternoon to watch some football with a couple of beers - Legends a good place to do this, 2 euros a pint.
Visiting Ciutedella is well worth doing. Some great little shops through the cobbled streets. Catch the 65 bus from the stop just down the road from the apts (at the mini roundabout). One way to Ciutedella was 7.40 euros for the 4 of us. And they are properly smart coaches rather than your average bus (yellow & red 'Torres' coaches).
Other little tips, best supermarket is the Topmarket at far end of Marina (has a nice little bakery section) and there is a cash machine outside aswell. Pharmacy that area aswell if you need it.
If you are a family looking for a week or two in the sun at a reasonable price and are happy with your basic self catering apts, then this is not going to be far out.
