“NEVER AGAIN!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 May 2010

We have just returned from 2 weeks in the Cabo De Banos apartments in Cala n Forcat. On our arrival we had to go to reception at Los Lentiscos, there being no reception open at the Cabo De Banos. We were the only couple in the 4 blocks of apartments for approximately 10 days!!! Lovely and quiet, yes. The apartment we were in was No. 37 which was on the ground floor, corner with lovely sea views across to Menorca. But cold. It is the coldest apartment we have ever stayed in. Condensation on the windows in the morning, and no sun until approx 6.30pm at night for an hour. Everything was cold and damp. Apartment would be lovely in the heat of the summer, but not for May. Everything was outdated. We did not get a cleaner for 5 days, so complained and the cleaner came next day and changed towels, emptied the bin and left one toilet roll! No cleaning of the floor etc. Not even a quick sweep with the brush. After our 10 days of peace and quiet, it was the Friday before we came home on the Sunday, and there suddenly appeared 30 to 40 Spanish teenagers (allegedly it is their bank Holiday) and guess where they put them!!! Across the hall from us, gangs of girls and boys, running up and down the corridors, screaming and shouting, playing loud music until 5.30am. Never Again!!
Completely ruined our holiday. We had to run the gauntlet when walking out on a night, to get past beer bottles, litter, bodies strewn all over the place, day and night. It was disgusting!! Cigarette ends outside our door every morning and no respect for anything.
One of the teenagers even brought his dog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will definitely not be going back to these apartments, and certainly not on May Bank Holiday. Not recommended.

“Not reccommended”

Travel agency and hotel's web page indicate some services that are not available when arriving there: hair drier, iron, iron board, coffee-maker.
The hotel RENTS you the hair-drier, iron and air-fans if you wish.
TV is cash-service (1 euro-hour) and signal reception is very bad.
Swimming pool is not watched and there were youngsters spitting and smoking drugs in the afternoons.
Common areas are not taken care - insects live in their heaven.
No areas for children.
Reception office is located in another resort.
Maintenance workers use noisy devices early in the morning.
The apartments are quite hot, and they do not even have awnings in the terraces to protect from sun heating them all day.
Refrigerator is located in the middle of the living-room/bed-room and the noise at night is distressful.

“Voaramar Bar Is The Best”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2008

Just returned from a lovely holiday at Menorca for two weeks. The first weeks weather was pretty grim (raining and thunder showers) we were the only people on the local beach, the locals were laughing at us. The best beach nearest to us was at Son Bou or Cala En Bosch but beware you will have to share it with lots of jelly fish and warnings not to swim in the sea!! With two children we didn't want to risk it. On arrival you will find that the reception is all shut up!! You are then told to go to Los Lenticos for your keys - at 11pm at night and with two children this was not really what we expected. The apartments were nice but basic. As it was so quiet at the complex we had the pool to ourselves most of the time but the only downside being that there are no pools bars near the pool for food or drinks. The best place to go for drink and food (and the CHEAPEST is a bar) just up the road from the apartments just opposite Los Lenticos called 'VORAMAR APARTMENTS'. The guy who runs it is called HULIO and he is brilliant at looking after you and ensures you have a fab holiday (he loves treating the kids). There is also has a parrot called Pancho in the bar who likes you to feed him crips, chips and all other junk food (not fruit and veg)!!! The restaurants along the strip are a lot more expensive but another nice place to eat is Maxis Bar (brilliant food and excellent views of the sea and beyond). The only downside to the apartments was lack of cleaning of the apartment (they came with fresh towels that was it) no cleaning and no change of beds for two weeks.

“Lovely area for families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 May 2007

We have just returned from a week at the Cabo de Banos apartments. You stay here but use the nearby (over the road) facilities of Los lentiscos. We booked here as a surprise as my husbands family had booked two weeks in Los Lentiscos. We actually tried Los Lentiscos but couldnt get in (though when we where there is was half empty...??) but Cabo de Banos was nicer anyway, a higher starage. We arrived mid morning and were handed the keys, the views from the balcony over the sea to Majorca were stunning and with it being on a cliff top, it was lovely and cool. The only slight negative would be that we booked with our one year old and a cot was not provided until we got back from dinner that night, but it was there, and it was a proper one, not a flimsy travel cot. Also they put us in the room with the best view but that did mean a flight of steps with a pushchair which we had to carry up every night. But this did not bother us. And this is probably down to our travel agent not telling them we had an infant, not them. The staff were very friendly with all our requests.

The facilities at Los Lentiscos were great, though the gym and sauna etc were not open as they dont open until enough people are there. We were told by the childrens reps (who would have done anything to keep the kids amused but there was very few kids there) that the week after we went was half term so they expected it to be packed.

We paid £530 for 2 adults and a infant self catering last minute off the internet for our week, which we felt was good value for what we got, our apartment had stunning views and a jacuzzi, though the tv is coin metered and we could only get news channels.

We would recommend Cala N Forcat to families, it is know locally as the buggy brigade, and everyone we saw was a young family, there were no young couples, no elderley, everyone was a family with kids. And the resort is geared up for it, with family friendly restaurants, waterpark, shops etc. Some would say it is too commercial, but for us it was ideal as there were six adults and three young children to keep occupied. And we hired a car for the week as our transfers would have been £120 and we hired a ford focus for the week and drove there and back. TOP TIP.

We would recommend the resort as well as Los Lentiscos and Cabo de Banos, just make sure you get a cheap deal on the internet. We would not have paid the £1400 our in laws paid (self catering...!) but it was a nice holiday for the price.
