“Lovely holiday”

We have just returned from a nice relaxing holiday, weather stayed great the resort was closing up but that didnt bother my family. We have stayed in 5* luxury and then budget accomadation and to be honest a holiday is what you make it!! The apartments are dated but you cannot fault the cleanliness of the rooms, towels and white sheets.. i would say the resort is aimed for younger children with the inflatables in most pubs and restaurants. My kids aged 4 & 8 loved the kids club and the girls were lovely making them feel very welcome. We did an excursion to see Somni which we loved but as usual a little overpriced. All in all we had a great holiday would just say these apartments are better when on a deal like we got it!!!

“Complex ok, beach good, snorkelling even better”

We have juut returned from a glorious 2 week stay at these apartments, I agee they are a bit dated and a bit out of the way, but they are clean apartments but the towel change I would have liked it to have been more than twice a week, but hey ho how long do you spend in your apartment, we did not use the complex for evening entertainment as after the first 2 night's from our apartment balcony you could easily be agadoo doo dood out, we used the supermarket for milk etc, but if you go out of the front of the hotel and turn left and then left again there is a very reasonable larger supermarket about 500 yards on the right (not Churchills, too expensive) if you wish to you can walk the 15 mins to the strip and again you will pass anopther larger supermarket, when you get to the strip you will find bars and restaurants to suit all pockes, we found 'Castaways' to be very reasonably priced and very good food we also ate at another restaurant can't remember its name but it is on the left hand site at the very end of the road at the roundabout where the staue is (of the man with no arms) again you get a very large plate full and very reasonably priced. We used the beach 2 minutes from our apartment and we were surprised to find it a snorkelling haven it was the best £5.00 each for our snorkelling masks that we spent, don't buy your masks from the bars on the beach buy from the supermarkets 2-3 euros cheaper, all in all we had a good break 2hours and 15 minuets flight time to this destination we will definetly return at some point in the future.

“Too LOUD, too British”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

Do you like listening to Agadoo at ridiculously high volume five nights a week? Are you sick of the British weather but can't bear to be more than a stone's throw from an over-priced can of baked beans? If so, then Apartamentos Vista Blanes is for you!

That's right, you can enjoy the delights of a kids' mini-disco every weeknight, even outside the school holidays, from the comfort of your own balcony – you don't even need to go to the hotel bar!

Fancy relaxing, and perhaps listening to your own choice of music at more moderate levels between the hours of 20:00 and 23:00? Tough; you'll need to go out instead, or you'll be sitting through the most inane, repetitive and downright annoying "entertainment" imaginable. Once the children have finished bopping, one of a range of low-rent acts will take to the stage. A Robbie Williams tribute act, vacuous quizzes and ill-conceived puppet shows are just a few of the horrendous prospects on offer.

The more discerning guest might, quite reasonably, consider complaining to the very approachable and helpful Thomson rep. Complainants beware, though – despite the lovely Charlotte's best efforts, the entertainment co-ordinator, Astrid, will ignore your plight and continue to bombard your ears. Even with only five or six children in attendance, the show will go on.

Your apartment's kitchenette features a two-ring electric hob, on which you could cook any one of the British food products available in the on-site shop, which is staffed by couple of very friendly young Spanish ladies. For the more adventurous, why not don your best white sports socks, slip on your sandals and head on down to one of the local supermarkets for a greater range of produce. Be sure to shop around for the best deals on British lager, digestive biscuits and Walkers crisps, or why not go crazy and buy something remotely Spanish?

Don't fancy cooking? Make your way to 'The Strip' – a mere 10-minute walk away, here you'll find the finest fried breakfasts, alongside all manner of other British-style food for lunch or dinner. More traditional local food is also available in a number of restaurants along The Strip. Not a rocket scientist? All you have to do is ignore the bright lights of the chippy, British and Irish themed pubs, and look for the Spanish words on the street-side menus.

Unsurprisingly, given that the area is a large tourist centre, most of the restaurant and bar staff speak incredible English. Don't let that put you off having a go at Spanish, however - it's generally really well received by your waiter or bartender. Best of all, you'll rarely get laughed at or burst into flames!

Back at the apartments, be sure to get to the pool before 09:00 to bag yourself a lounger, otherwise you'll find yourself doing nothing more than admiring an astounding array of gaudy beach towels for the three hours it takes for anyone to start lying on them.

The pool is very clean, the water is relatively warm, and there's plenty of room for swimmers and more playful souls. Be prepared for plenty of noise from adults and children alike, though. Also be aware that at some point during the afternoon you may have to make way for an accommodation supplier-sanctioned game of water polo. Not only will those innocently enjoying a cool dip have their fun interrupted, but guests trying to relax around the pool's edge will invariably be struck by a heavy volleyball, much to the indifference of the ubiquitous Astrid and the handful of people bored enough to take part in the game. Complain away at this, safe in the knowledge that you will be the one considered to be in the wrong. Don't you just hate those killjoys!?

All in all, while much of the surrounding area is well worth the time it will take to explore – try walking to Ciutadella, or swimming with the fishes in one of the nearby coves – you'd be better saving the money you could be spending at Vista Blanes and putting it towards a stay at accommodation that will credit you with a modicum of taste.

Room Tip: Book a room somewhere else.

“Better outsde the complex!!”

I went with 2 friends. Apartments were o.k but nothing to shout about. Desperate need for air conditioning. Kitchen area was not fantastic. Entertainment was so so but repeated a lot. It's more for the children. Any problems we had were solved when we left the complex, Found a fantastic pub down the road called CHURCHILLS, brilliant pub grub, great menu. ended up going everyday for breakfast and evening meal, cheap as well, only 2.50 for a pint there, bargain. New supermarket that sold every english product necessary and at very cheap prices. Much cheaper than the complex supermarket. Owners of Churchills (Ian & Richard) and the staff were all so welcoming, friendly and polite. Entertainment went from quizzes, karoake, pool competitions, games room, bingo etc.Brilliant. We went to our complex to sleep and shower thats all! All in all we will go back to menorca but not stay at these apartments. Churchills get some built please!!

stayed 20th august with husband and three teenages First things first the hotel is situated in the middle of no where.not much to do atall only a handful of pubs and restaraunts near by all selling the same meals. The apartment it self was very poor and dated, quite tatty infact the cooking area if you wanted to cook was very small, pots pans filthy knives forks etc rusty.Bathroom sink and towel rail hanging off the wall,no air con but knew this before we went, just a fan in bedroom that was no use what so ever in peak weeks. You could hire a fan for 2euro a day (rip off) safe was 25euro to hire got 5euro back on check out.The pool was the nicest part but you have to be up early to grab a bed.Restaurant was ok but quite expensive, entertainment was good but if your staying for 2 weeks it will be repeated.Got abit sick of the complex so we used to walk into calla and forcat which is only a 20 min stroll up hill but well worth it,so much more on offer and abit more going on for the teenages.Beach is not a beach just a very small cove,We booked with thompson and they rated it 3star i wouldnt rate it 1 star! We met some lovely people while there, who all said would not return! I think if you have little ones its ok but not so good for older kids.I suppose you get what you pay for how ever i dont consider £3000 cheap after you have paid for food etc. Some people have loved this place on previous reviews, how ever it wasnt for us.

Room Tip: Ground floor facing pool as no lifts.
