We spent two weeks in the Maribel and had a great holiday.

The accomodation is fine internally, clean and spacious. There are two hobs if you want to cook (no oven or microwave). We had a one bedroom appartment and the kids slept on the pull out bed.

My main gripe with the Maribel is the noise at night. Our appartment was above a restaurant and opposite a bar. We have young(ish 4 & 6yrs), children and they were in bed by 10pm most nights which meant we were not too far behind. It was virtually impossible to sleep with the windows open and we had to complain before they would give us a fan to enable us to sleep. Once we had the fans, the noise was not a problem. The bars stay open quite late 2-4AM.

If your family stay up later then it may not be such a problem.

Apart from the noise, the resort was fine, nice pool and plenty of retaurants. The resort had it's own kids entertainer (who was great). He plays games with the kids from about 8PM onwards. There is not much to do for the older kids though.

The beach at Cala Blanca is small and gets very crowded, there is a nicer beach about 20 minutes walk away (Cala Santandria), well worth the walk. Both beaches are clean and very safe for children.

A couple of supermarkets are very close by and the prices are not too over inflated (we had a car and shopped at an out of town supermarket and the prices were comparable).

We Spent a week here, with our 3 yr old grandson. As far as the apartment went, we got what we paid for. The resort is VERY VERY quiet, in May. It may liven up towards July. At least we did not have night clubs coming out at all hours, however the only entertainment in the pubs, was when England played football. The apartment was fine, it suited us. When you stop at these apartments, you really are on your own, in regards to being cleaned and toilet rolls. We bought our own, from the supermarket. The beach is very small and smelly. Be warned Cala Blanca, is a lovely place but it is VERY quiet.

Stayed 1st week of September which is apparently the best time to go as it's quieter as the season is coming to a close. The apartment was huge and very clean with a lovely large fridge/freezer. Cooking facilities are basic with two rings to cook on but eating out is very reasonable and recommmended. There is a supermarket literally 30 seconds from the apartment which stocks everything you could want (its very geared towards the british so have alot of british produce).

There are lots of shops on site and the pool is very clean and lovely. Staff are lovely and fixed our bathroom light within hours of reporting it, all in all a very good service. Recommend nights out in Cuidadela, lovely eating out and fresh sea food, a small market at night and very romantic.

Mahon is around an hour on the bus but costs less than 4 euros, went for the September festival which was fantatsic, lots of horses roaming the streets and an abundance of the local gin mix drink Pomada. Go and enjoy its a fab holiday.

Apartment is very Clean, All the staff were really friendly! My Family and i have just got back at the weekend our travel agent promised us a holiday for children under 5 (not this resort) Beach is 30 mins walk away. NOT MUCH FOR CHILDREN UNDER 7!!!!! We did find a great Bar to eat out, i highly recommend going to Dannys Bar ask for the monster burger Tastey. For the older people there are some spectacular views. The hotel did cater for all those following the World Cup, big wide screen T.v.....
