“Very quite and relaxing”

Our first trip to Menorca and we were not disappointed in any way although being near the end of their Summer season. We could not fault the Hotel or food in any way and the staff in Reception and Restaurant were very curtious. The only dissapointment was the outdoor swiming pool was very cold that no one could use it I wouldnt recommend it for families, I'm sure you would be welcome but there are no facilities for children. If you want peace and quite then that is the place for you. The spa facilities are excellent but tretments too expenceive.
We will be back to the Island

“Excellent holiday and thanks to all concerned”

.Just returned from a week’s holiday at La Quinta, excellent hotel with fantastic service all round. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and too be fair could not do enough for you; especially when the WIFI facilities were playing up!

Children are obviously unwelcome as there were no facilities for them and no children’s pool, for us this made the holiday, all we were looking for was a quiet bolt hole for a bit of R & R in the sunshine.

Couple of minor criticisms;-
The pool could have been warmer and cleaner...we were at the end of the season but inexcusable for a 5 star hotel.
The evening meal was sadly not 5 star, strange combinations and often badly cooked, the excellent service and attention made up for the deficiencies in the food quality.
Breakfast was just Ok, had better even in 4 star hotels, limited selection of fresh fruit and as always the coffee was far too bitter... Please don’t be put off by this comment it was well presented and enjoyable but after 7 days you want some variety… Should have an Egg and omelette station in the restaurant itself.
The rooms were fantastic, sadly no ITV so my wife missed x factor... what a shame. Watch the bathroom the bath is quite slippery and as per other comments I think that a 5 star hotel should have a separate Power shower room.
We had a perfect stay, thanks to all concerned especially Charlotte the Thomson’s travel agent in Taunton who recommended the hotel. Make sure you travel A La Carte it makes all the difference.

“"An excellent holiday"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 October 2011

Just returned from an excellent one weeks holiday at La Quinta with my hubby.
Booked with Thomson Al A Carte.Private taxi included but turned out to be a mini bus for two people.Excellent hotel but there are some issues. We agree with most reviewers about the good points so we won t bore you with them.
Here are the bad points from our point of view.

The outdoor pool is freezing cold as always in europe.

Although the bedrooms are cleaned to perfection, the hotel states that the rooms will be cleaned between 8am to 4pm.Our room 229 second floor was usually cleaned 3 to 3 30. Not good enough for a 5 star hotel.

There is a pathetic shower head over the bath. Should be a wet room at these prices.

Breakfasts were nice but the evening menu was too fussy with some strange dishes. Again not 5 star quality. In fact, very poor. The waiters are friendly and effecient.

If you go to the wellness centre you will find two good sunbathing areas with sunbeds.

The receiption is a disgrace for a five star hotel, eg. dark, dingy and very old fashioned best describes it. No one tells you that there are free newspapers on the receiption counter.

If you book an excursion, also on you departure day if you have an early flight you will only be given a continental breakfast, but no one will tell you this. You have to go to receiption and ask.

We must point out that the free hotel shuttle bus to Cuitadella only has 8 seats and you must book at least 2 days before you go. Dont worry, the service bus runs every quarter of an hour and is cheap, comfortable clean and prompt. You can also change buses at Cuitadella for Mahon and most resorts.
The hotel is situated on a quiet road away from the very TACKY and rundown resort of Cala n Bosch which consists of british bars and restauraunts. It is Spain after all.
The clientelle mainly consists of people age between fifty upwards. We are 59 and 61. The hotel is not suitable for children. It makes for a tranquil atmosphere at the pool.

Please dont be put off by our review, you will have an excellent holiday at The La Quinta hotel. This is just our opinion.

Room Tip: If you want quick access to the pool area ask for a ground floor room.

“Couldn't fault it if we tried!”

Just back from a superb week at LA QUINTA

Booked half board with Thomas Cook. Individual taxi transfers were included which made things easy. Maurice the rep was helpful but not pushy.

HOTEL: very elegant, lots of artwork, immaculate and classy

LOCATION: just far enough away from the harbour and its associated bustle / noise

BEACHES: within crawling distance - more for families and very busy

ROOM: immaculate again, evening turn-down service, lovely balcony where we sat after dinner listening to the entertainment most evenings as many guests did

FOOD: exceptional, good variety. Breakfast included made to order omelette, bacon, scrambled eggs, continental, cakes, coffee/tea etc. Dinner consisted of cold or hot soup to start followed by fabulous buffet salad, then your choice from a good variety of dishes. To finish, sweet buffet or selection of ices / sorbets

STAFF: very helpful, friendly staff at every level

POOL/GARDENS: beautiful setting and gin clear water - cleaned by hand every night, plenty of available sunbeds (no hogging)

BAR: lovely and relaxed with great and friendly service always. Nice complimentary snacks with drinks order

COURTESY BUS: bookable free bus service to Cuitadella and return - perfect. Local bus very cheap and regular but gets very busy. Taxi only around €20

CLIENTELLE: Approx 49% UK, 49% German, 2% Spanish / Italian - age group 30 - old

Room Tip: Choose ground floor for easy pool access across the gardens, choose higher level for relatively priv...
