“Hidden gem on Menorca”

Just returned from a week in the Cala Blanca, and were missing it already.
I shall detail every aspect so you may get a good insight into this hotel
Upon entering the hotel we were checked in by very friendly staff, it took 2 minutes and were issued with our electronic room key, the lift is very small but quick, we were on the third floor after emailing the hotel and asking for a pool view they obliged.
The rooms are clean and the air con is great, however there are no tea and coffe making facilities.
Two single beds and bunk beds in our room, dressing table, and large wardrobe, this is where the safe is (hired through reception)
The bathroom is fresh and clean, however beware the shower, it has a mind of it's own going hot and cold, the trick is to turn the pressure down, this seemed to solve the problem.
From our large balcony we overlooked the pool, it was a great view, you could even see Majorca.
The pool area is great, loads of sun beds so no need to get up early to put the towels down, we lay on the lawns which is really peaceful.
The pool is cold but very clean and refreshing as the temperature was in the high 90's every day.
The bar is again very clean, and you're served very very quickly, the beer is great and the spirits although local are of a high quality, and a very large measure!
The breakfast is ample, cooked, breads, meats, eggs, cereal, fruit etc..you find your own table for breakfast, lunch I found was slightly better than evening time, you are shown to your seats for both lunch and evening meals.
The meals are good, always something to fill you, maybe not as hot as they should be but there are microwaves to heat them up, there is always a fish dish which was great, veg, potato, chips, salad, meat, chicken etc..
The entertainment team were excellent and really made our holiday, there are events on all day, you really should enter as many as you can, that way you get to meet other holiday makers, and some great friends.
Of an evening more fun awaits, firstly people who have won games throughout the day are awarded certificates and champagne on stage, is is great, then bingo, quizes, and an act, the bar closes at midnight but you can take your drinks onto the patio beside the pool.
There is a security guard who patrols later on to make sure there is no noise.
The hotel is situated about 3 minutes from a gorgeous beach if that's your thing, however there is little else about, which is just what we wanted.
A bus into the main town is met just outside the hotel and costs 1.50 euro each way, when you get off in Ciutadella go and get your return ticket from the wooden office, you can't get a ticket on the bus to return.
Shops and supermarkets are not allowed to sell cigarettes or tobacco so you must get them in bulk in Ciutadella, however you can get a packet from machines in a few bars.
All in all this is a great hotel, friendly staff, great surroundings, and excellent value for money, we met some great people who will be long term friends.
I would recommend this hotel if you want a quiet holiday, not really for young people.

“Really good service”

Arrived around mid-day, reception was friendly and quick. The room was excellent, very clean, beds comfortable and ample wardrobe and draw space. The air conditioniong was first class and with the hot weather this was a real asset. The food, overall was very good, the meats always well cooked, sometimes the veg could have been a bit hotter but no real complaints, one guest told me to avoid the steak and kidney pie, I am pleased I ignored her advice it was on the next day and it was delicious.
There was a good salad bar and, as always in spain, the cake was delicious. They also provided a good selection of fruit. If I had any complaints about the lunch or evening meals it would be that there was no hot sweet available i.e. something with custard or chocolate sauce. The only drinks available in the dining area at the main meal times were water and wine, you were able to take a soft drink or beer in with you from the bar, which was no great hardship, but it would have been nice to have the tea and coffee available. There was always the same selection at breakfast but with bacon, eggs (scrambled, fried and boiled) tomatoes, beans and sausage plus a variety of cereals, pastries, breads and a selection of fruits you could easily vary your first meal of the day. You select your own seat at breakfast but for the main meals you wait to be seated, the staff are friendly and efficient and you never wait long.
A word about reception, we had two problems in our room while we were there one with the water supply and the other accidental damage. I cannot praise highly enough the service we received after we reported these to reception, both problems were fixed within an hour of being reported. The reception staff were friendly and helpful and genuinely concerned for our well being. I must not forget to praise the maid service, it must be difficult working around all the stuff on the floor and dresser which us holiday makers seem to clutter up our rooms with.
The bar staff were excellent, very friendly, and you never waited long for a drink even at busy times.
The entertainment was mostly based around audience participation and, as usual, the guests rose to the occasion providing some really good laughs. The entertainment team worked extremely hard day and night always getting the guests involved without being too pushy and they were friendly and approachable.
The hotel is nicely situated a short walk from the lovely little beach, which is beautifully clean, we prefer swimming in the sea to the pool and the swimming here is very safe and the water crystal clear.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our week there (too short) and we would go back.

Room Tip: If you have small children that need to go to bed early try to get a room that is not directly above...

“Excellent holiday!”

Just got back from this lovely hotel last friday (16th Sept). My boyfriend and I were there for a week and it was one of the most fun and relaxing weeks holidays we have ever had. The hotel itself is spotless as is the poolside area. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and there is not limit to the amount you want to eat or drink on the AI package. We had a great mixture of fellow guests and everyone was sociable and friendly, The entertainment staff kept us well entertained without being pushy and their approach really worked with people wanting to join in the activities as they could see how much fun they were! I didn't realise there were so many ways to cheat at water basketball!!
I would deffinitely recommend this hotel as a relaxing and thoroughly good value getaway. Can't wait to go again!!
