We’ve just returned from a week at the Princesa Playa and on the whole we had a good holiday. The weather was unusually hot for September with just one day of rain.
We stayed in an apartment on a half board basis; the apartment was well equipped but was tired and not very clean at all. There were many maintenance/cleaning issues which I have brought up on my comment card.
The food was quite good but the layout of the food was a little odd. You had the hot buffet – meat, fish, chips, paella etc but then turn around and the first thing that you come to ice the ice cream station, the vegetables are there somewhere, again breads are on one side and the butter is with the salads.
They are clearly catering for the masses but you could always find something nice.
The breakfasts are good, but the cooked section is a little limited.
The drinks prices are competitive which is good as there isn’t anywhere in the immediate vicinity to go for a quick drink. The entertainment is a little amateur – the Freddy Mercury/Tina Turner impersonator was the worst act that I’ve seen in over 40 years!
The pools were great with plenty of space for all; we didn’t use the pool bar but it did seem very popular. Pool towels are available from reception. I wasn't asked to pay a deposit but they did make a note of my room. You just traded wet towels for dry - which for us was great as we only had the room serviced three times in a week so we constantly struggled with towels!
The hotel is a little out of the way but the bus stop is across the road and the bus service is excellent.
Cala’n Bosch is a beautiful little resort and was great for a late summer break. I’d go again but would try another, more central hotel.
