we have just returned from 10 days at the princesa playa the weather was very hot for sept , hotel was excellent , the staff was all very polite and helpful a big thx to juan in the restraunt what a lovely man made dinner time fun and was always ready to help , in fact there is not anything i can say bad bout this hotel (except maybe some of the entertaintment of a night ) plenty of supermarkets around and the marina is a 15 mins walk away with plenty of bars legands was our favorite , beaches was lovley the one near the habour got a bit busy but the one nearly the hotel (just down the path by tennis courts ) was a bit more quite . first time in menorca and i would go again

We’ve just returned from a week at the Princesa Playa and on the whole we had a good holiday. The weather was unusually hot for September with just one day of rain.
We stayed in an apartment on a half board basis; the apartment was well equipped but was tired and not very clean at all. There were many maintenance/cleaning issues which I have brought up on my comment card.
The food was quite good but the layout of the food was a little odd. You had the hot buffet – meat, fish, chips, paella etc but then turn around and the first thing that you come to ice the ice cream station, the vegetables are there somewhere, again breads are on one side and the butter is with the salads.
They are clearly catering for the masses but you could always find something nice.
The breakfasts are good, but the cooked section is a little limited.
The drinks prices are competitive which is good as there isn’t anywhere in the immediate vicinity to go for a quick drink. The entertainment is a little amateur – the Freddy Mercury/Tina Turner impersonator was the worst act that I’ve seen in over 40 years!
The pools were great with plenty of space for all; we didn’t use the pool bar but it did seem very popular. Pool towels are available from reception. I wasn't asked to pay a deposit but they did make a note of my room. You just traded wet towels for dry - which for us was great as we only had the room serviced three times in a week so we constantly struggled with towels!
The hotel is a little out of the way but the bus stop is across the road and the bus service is excellent.
Cala’n Bosch is a beautiful little resort and was great for a late summer break. I’d go again but would try another, more central hotel.

We stayed at the Princesa Playa for 2 weeks from 7 September 2011.the weather was brilliant and the guests were a mixture of Italian / British / Duthch mainly adults & families with small children as it was jjust after the school holidays. The hotel room 242 was very spacious and well equipped with double bed and a settee small round table with 2 leather bucket chairs and a small fridge ideal for cool drinks etc .On the patio a table & 2 chairs and clothes airer, overlooked the pool/garden areas. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard.
The rooms with odd numbers overlooked the road with not much view.
Loads of sunbeds around the pool and could be moved into the garden area under trees if required more space & shade
The only thing I would have liked was tea making facilities in the room.
2 problem areas-:
1) the shower in the bath was brilliant always hot & powerfull but had great difficulty in retaining the water in the bath, flooded bathroom several times.
2) The air condtioning was very efficient however be warned it will only work with the patio doors closed, we thought we were being clever on the first evening as the room was very warm went out on to the balcony and closed the door,(wrong) unable to get back in as the door is kept shut by a clip device. Had to call down to a guest in the room below to contact staff to let us back in.

This hotel does what everyone says it does. They give good food, exchange rates, bar prices and even their little 'supermarket' is cheaper.

The ornaments for example are considerably cheaper than outside the complex.
The staff are always friendly too.

Only gripes would be the hardness of the beds (yes I mean hard rather than firm) and that they cut the grass (it takes hours) during the day time when people are sunbathing. Also if your room faces the road, dependent on the room, your privacy may be a bit restricted in that coaches park there and their drivers sit on the kerb facing you. But that's it. In every other respect it was great.

We did try the animation one night, but like everywhere it's great for kids. For adults, there's many nice bars down at the marina, or just sit on the balcony outside the bar.

We are not party animals and the first day was torrential rain (just bad luck) so the fact that you have BBC1, BBC2 and ITV in your room is brilliant. You also have a fridge to store your goodies but do remember that when you leave the room the electricity goes out!
Tips: You need to take a kettle and cups, spoons to make tea so just buy a pack of the small individual milk/cream pots from the hotel shop (they work well in tea and coffee).
Beach/pool towels need 20 euro deposit each, the remote control 10 euros and safety deposit 5 euros. So have a running tab and use the deposits to pay off your bill. Just keep a record of your spending. We had wine every night with the meal one glass each, sometimes more and a couple of cocktails and water and the bill for the week for the two of us was just over 50 euros!!

The sunbeds can be moved wherever you want in the grounds which was great as we prefer the grass and a fair bit of shade bathing.

Both beaches are small but within 5 mins outside the back of the hotel, through a gate down through the self catering/tennis courts for the nearest one and a max of 15 mins stroll for Cala'n Boch.
Whatever you do get the bus opposite the front of the hotel (number 65) to Cuitadella and walk down all the side streets as well as the main street. It is so beautiful. Pay on the bus going (check the current fare before going they like the right money) and get a ticket back from the kiosk where they drop you off. Probably to prevent the driver having to hold too much money?
