We stayed at the Blanc Palace the last week of August, first week of September 2010. We enjoyed our stay, which was about relaxing and taking it easy. As other reviews have stated the hotel is in a quiet residential area and if you want hustle and bustle then it's not for you. There is a large pool - with lots of sun beds. There was easy access to the bar that provided both drinks and food. The restaurant got very busy and at times the buffet (hot and cold) was sparse and not replenished quickly enough. The staff were friendly but very busy - not enough waiting on staff.

The room was clean, big enough for us (family of 3), air conditioning was great and a T.V was in the room if needed. We stayed half board but had a fridge and cooking facilities in our room. The rooms were cleaned about 2-3 times over our 11 day stay.

We went out quite a lot to other resorts which are very close to each other and not far from Sa Caleta. A must is visiting Ciutadella, it is a very pretty town with the many restaurants along the port and the beautiful buildings and churches within the town. We went a couple of times and to be honest if we didn't have a young child (who didn't like walking!) we'd have gone a lot more.

The bus services are very frequent which takes away from the fact that you are not local to restaurants and shops. Cala Santandria was a short walk from the hotel, and had a lovely cove which was popular with both the locals and tourists.

For us the only down side was the hotel entertainment was poor especially when the choice of where else to go in the immediate area is limited. Most nights the entertainment room was empty by 10 pm.

On the first week the children's club was very busy and you had to queue to get your child's name down on the list. The second week was quiet and meant that our child was able to access the club a couple of times and she loved it. The reps were very friendly and helpful.

We found the resort very clean and friendly.

This hotel serves the WORST food in buffet style. Its so bad you wouldnt feed a prisoner or they would riot.

Went there with my 8 month old daughter and wife and we had to eat out everynight.

Hotel is 1960's styled in that its old and dated. Pool was adequate. We paid £970 for the week so "value" but were bitterly dissapointed because 3 months prior we went to a Sensatori resort meaning quality quality quality.

This place makes no effort and we couldnt wait to get out of the gates and go into town.

My one word to sum it up - AVOID

Well after reading reviews of this hotel must admit I was a bit apprehensive! but this hotel is really nice. After a hour and a half delay we arrived in Menorca then had to travel in hire car to other end of island which, when you know where you're going, would not be a problem - but we didn't :-( and so we got lost! We arrived late at the hotel with 2 tired and hungry children and seeing as it was 10.30pm we thought we'd be too late to get anything to eat but the staff had very thoughtfully put to one side some plates made up with cold meats, cheese and salad! Hurray for Blanc Palace!
The room was comfortable and clean - just a bit noisy from adjoining apartments dragging furniture round in early hours of morning! The food was buffet service and was amazing - there was a great choice of cold and hot food and the desserts were wonderful - breakfasts were amazing too with a lot of choice. Reception and restaurant staff were really friendly and very helpful - reception staff recommended a lovely restaurant when we wanted to eat out one night for a special occasion. Also, my daughter celebrated her birthday while we were there and they made a huge fuss of her. The hotel was at opposite end of island to airport but we hired a car so this was no problem as it only took 45 mins approx to get from one side to other and the area of hotel was lovely and quiet with some really scenic surrounding areas.
As said in my title - a thoroughly enjoyable holiday and I would definately return to Blanc Palace.

Were do I start, this has to be the worst holiday we have ever had , we booked this with Thompson and were let down from start to finish , we will never book with them again We booked early in feb and the reviews were good a FOUR STAR PLATINUM holiday, what we got was far from that, 2* butlins in the sun if you can call it that. . The hotel is now part of vacances menorca group which now incorprates the 2 star apartments next door, so yes they can use all the facilities in the hotel ( they aren't supposed to ..but do ) . The canteen, sorry i mean restaurant was a joke , ran out of plates , cutlery, food dire very very poor, dont even think about drinking the juice , not sure i can even call it that , from the machine if you value your teeth enamel. NO service at or table for 5 nights !! yes it took 5 nights for anyone to take a drinks order, loads of dirty plates left on the tables, NO fresh bread only stale rolls, tinned veg yumm and tinned fruit . Most of the food was just slopped out, and of very poor quality . Pool area not exclusive to Blanc Palace so very busy and u only get a sunbed at 7 am ... nice . Rooms bad we had a dirty rusty microwave, bath that flooded the floor, air con that hung off the wall. We complained 3 times before we even flew out to Thompson as we were concerned about this Hotel, and we were fobbed off. So we had no choice but to go, All in all not a nice experience. SO IF YOU HAVE BOOKED .. CHANGE , DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY.
