bware if u go all inclusive as no lunch supplied only crisps and ice cream but ran out of crisps for 3 days .rooms and complex kept clean and pool was always spotless.entertainment ok for kids but not all the daily activities were put on as entertainment team had to practice their dance routines for their thrice a week cabaret shows definitely worth a miss.good entertainment in village but drinks pricey.food ok multi national guests a lot of spanish which i thought got most of the attention of entertainment team didnt think staff very friendly never smiled all rooms had sea view 15 min walk to village no courtesy room .still enjoyed it though

I've previously written a review based on my stay for last year... well here's the update for this years stay.....
Stayed all half board this year rather than self catering last year, so obviously we had no dealing with the restaurant until our visit this year. It can get a bit busy but not overwhelmingly so. I went with a party of 8 (4 adults and 4 children). Food wise, there wasnt a great deal of variety, but what was available was great, especially during the breakfast time. I went with the intention of upgrading to all inclusive but it was a bit pricey, considering that there was no lunch included in package, just drinks and ice creams when you upgrade from half board to all inclusive.
Accomodation and facilities are great. Everywhere is spotless and still no fighting for the sunbeds. Maid service was regular and both the entertainment, maintenance, admin and bar staff were very, very friendly...English people are in the minority there, its mainly spanish residents who use the hotel as a base and then travel to the beaches during the daytime (by the way...as mentioned in previous review... Tony the spanish person who speaks with a Cockney accent spent 15 years in East London)
Apparently the hotel chain has gone into liquidation, so if its true that the staff havent been paid for a couple of months, my whole perception of the service there has massivley gone up in my estimation. Everyone of the bar, ents and reception staff who were there last year were also there this year and were as helpful and friendly as ever. My kids want to go back there for a 3rd year (especially my 14yr old) which I think says a lot for the place.

Room Tip: Personally I'd choose rooms 1 to 40 ish to get the best locations, close to both pools within th...

“It's ok, but don't go all inclusive - you don't get lunch”

The place is ok, but this is a resort that wasn't built to be all inclusive. The rooms all have fridges and cooking facilities, so its obviously been built as a self catering/ half board thing, and then they do all inclusive. This doesn't really work, as it's not big enough to support enough variety at evening meal time. We are quiet easy to please food wise, so it was ok, sometimes good. The fish was always good, and often had calamari, which is fine if you like it. The first thing you find is that it's not really all inclusive, it's all inclusive lite, so you don't get lunch. Every single person we met went there expecting all inc, and spent the first couple of days arguing the toss with their tour operators as to what they should book. It wasn't like one of these places where there are snack bars open all the time and you can get something to eat, you eat at the normal times if the kids get hungry in between your problem. You could get crisps from the bar, when they had them in stock, but most of the time they had none. The staff were good, and there was a mini disco for the kids of an evening, and other entertainment for kids and adults, some better than others. The kids club was a joke, come and do some colouring, while the member of staff ignores you. But to be honest I don't go on holiday to get rid of the kids. The pools were nice, and the kids loved them. there are no beaches near by except a couple of coves, there are nice beaches about 1km away , but it was so hot we never made it there. If you are self catering it's a relatively long walk in the heat to the nearest shops/resturant. There's no longer a shop or a pizza place on site although their was previously. I don't want to sound negative, we had a good time, a great time, but we paid a lot of money for the holiday, and I think for a bit more we could have got somewhere a bit nicer. The kids had a lovely time, and we had a nice break too. I don't appreciate the mrs having to call up the uk to argue the toss as to whether the booking page explained that there was no lunch included or not. The staff were great though, nice to the kids, and very friendly, someone told me the place is in administration and they haven't been paid for a couple of months, which if true is even more remarkable. Anyway, I think if you go with the right expectations it's not a bad place at all. but don't go expecting a luxury all inclusive, 4 stars for this is a joke, it's a self catering place, with food added on, there is no beach, and it's a bit basic. That said you can have a great holiday there, we met some great people and had a lot of fun.

“Great Hotel for Families”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 August 2011

We stayed at the Sea Club in August 2011 and overall had a great stay. The hotel is well laid out and doesn't give the impression of being built up or cramped compared to other apartment complexes. The rooms were fine, a big bedroom with an adequate kitchen and the maids were in regularly to clean and change the linen and towels.
The pools were fine and the kids ( 5 and 2 ) loved the splash area. What was really refreshing was the absence of reserving of sunbeds with towels. The hotel states this shouldn't happen and to be honest it was never an issue during the holiday and people enjoyed the pool until 8.30 -9.00 pm.
The restaurant food was fine, nothing special but edible and the staff are very efficient. The entertainment was understated but seemed to fit with the hotel compared to other complexes which could be heard 400 metres away. Mini disco was a hit with the kids.
The hotel is slightly out from the centre, a good 10 minutes with a 5 year old in 90 degree heat but we prefer this as it was quiet at night. That said we walked to Cala Blanes beach without too much complaining.
Hiring a car to travel to other resorts is a worthwhile expense, there is plenty to see and do, Galdana, Son Bou, El Toro, Fornells. Ciudadella at night is lovely, great atmosphere and pretty to walk about in. We went by bus which was fine.
All in all a great holiday

Room Tip: Go for a room numbered 100 and above, greay views and away from the stage !

“A Fabulous Family Holiday - relaxed but great fun!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 August 2011

We have just returned from 10 nights at this gem of a famiy hotel. The hotel environment was relaxing, but with an injection of fun. The rooms were basic but clean, and the beds were not the most comfortable; however this did not detract from our enjoyment. The pools were fabulous, with plenty of space and sunbeds available. The Entertainments Team were a hard working Trio, with a special mention to Tony, the Spaniard with the best Cockney accent ever! There were things happening throughout the day (except Sunday) that everyone could join in with - yoga, aqua aerobics, water polo, shooting, darts........ and our 4 year old loved the Mini Disco. No need to worry about loud music all night, everything goes quiet around 11.15pm. The food was ok, but as a vegetarian I did struggle, I just filled up on salads! The All Inclusive Option was a problem for many British English families, including ourselves. We had booked all inclusive, but when we arrived we found out that our Operator's definition of All Inclusive was Half Board with unlimited drinks, crisps and ice cream. SO BEWARE and prepared!!! The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk to the town........in the 35 degree heat! And the nicer beach is a 25 minute walk. However, this was a great family holiday, but if you are staying over 7 nights, we would recommend hiring a car as the coves are truely beautiful and the sea at Cala Galdana is amaxing and great for snorkelling. Menorca is a beautiful island that is very family orientated, and we would recommend the island and hotel very highly.
