I will try to be as honest as I can, both good points and bad, because when I book a holiday I always check out the reviews and find most of them very helpful. I will do my best to do that for you.
Scenario:
Me and my girlfriend (24 and 21) were looking for a cheap holiday in the sun after just finishing university so didnt have much money, however were also people who have high tastes too so we knew we had to find a compromise between luxury and cost. We wanted to go all inclusive to make the most of the food and drink and the hotel los delfines had some decent reviews and offered a cheap price so we went for it.
The Room:
Remember the hotel los deflines has appartments also. Those are for self catering. If you go all inclusive, you go in the 4 storey hotel and it is a nice looking hotel. The rooms are quite modern and was pleasently supprised. The room was clean, well looked after, spacious and with modern decoration. Lots of TV channels including english channels (not sky) and the bathroom was very nice. The beds were quite uncomforatble but overall very happy with the rooms.
Food:
The food for me was fine, however my girlfriend was a vegetarian and whilst they said they catered for all dietry requirements there was very very little for vegetarians. The did have a big fresh salad display for your starters but that was it. After a week of it, twice a day she got quite fed up of it. For main course they would generally put out overcooked vegetables and rice, but even the pasta was cooked with meat sauce. For non vegetarians they did have a bit more variety, different meets, fish, pasta chips etc which changed everyday, however it was mass produced so served in massive trays onto a buffet and everyone went to collect it themselves.
Drinks:
All inclusive meant you could get as many drinks as you wanted, however, you could only get two at a time and they gave small cups out so it didnt last long. The tea and coffee was disgusting so take your own coffee and tea. Its worth it.
People:
The receptionists were a pleaseure to talk to and very helpful, however the hotel manager came across quite rude when we spoke to you so we gave a little complaint in an attempt to help other people. Other than that, very friendly.
Facilities:
There is very little to do. The hotle has a pool and a bar and a very outdated stage inside where there is some entertainment in the evening however, the entertainment consists of bingo everynight, pub quiz, and kids club dancing. We went out every night to get away from it. There are no other facilities. No gym, no sauna, no spa for massages. There is a tiny internet room and a games room but nothing else. The lounge was very outdated and dark so we spent the day by the pool then went out at night.
The resort:
There is nothing to do in the resort. There is a little strip where there are a few bars, restaurants and shops, but give it an hour and you have seen it all. We were very bored. We did find a good plaza that had shows on each night which kept us entertained but that was it. Hire a car so you can travel the island and see more. There is a little beach which was quite nice called pirates cove. Its well hidden but worth a visit.
And I think thats it. Hope it helps. I have been as honest as I can. We were a little dissappointed as it didnt meet our usual standards however we didnt have a lot of money and for what we paid overall it was quite acceptable. If you do have higher standards you need to spend over £400, but if you don't have a lot, this hotel (not the appartments) would give you a decent break.
