We had a wonderful time at the Azul Playa. The best thing about this hotel for me was its staff, everyone was absolutely superb, so friendly and always happy to help. Thanks in particular to Toni, Sebastian, Davinia and Candida in Reception, it was a pleasure to meet you all and thank you for all your help.
The hotel is in a great position, close to the airport yet in a beautiful, quiet spot, directly on the promenade and the beach. The surrounding area itself is lovely, mainly residential, so not crowded with other tourists, ideal! The beach is lovely and clean, I saw the sand being cleaned every day; you can hire sunbeds and parasols, not sure how much as we didn't bother. We hired bikes and had great fun exploring around the local area up and down the coastline (we found a fab little cove which we had all to ourselves) as well as going into Palma itself (a bit scary on a bike, it's very busy!). The little harbour area around Portixol has several good places to eat. Reception made the bike hiring very easy for us, they arranged for the bikes to be brought directly to the hotel for us, and we simply left them there at the end of the day where they would be collected, all for 8 Euros each for the whole day, brilliant! It is only a very short walk from the hotel to nearby supermarkets. We didn't have breakfast included at the hotel which was fine for us, so I enjoyed the short early morning walk to get gorgeous fresh croissants from Fibonacci's and fresh fruit, yogs and water from Lidl and we enjoyed our breakfast on our terrace. I have to say, breakfast at Magi's looked good, and it would be a fab place to sit in the early morning sun. The restaurant at the hotel (Magi's) is lovely and good value and there are plenty of tasty dishes to choose from, the staff were all lovely. We also tried out some of the restaurants close by and would thoroughly recommend the fish at Ca'n Jordi and the langostine ravioli at Almare, just delicious!
Our room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean and though a bit small the enormous terrace more than compensated for the size of the room. The terrace was FABULOUS!
I would certainly recommend this hotel to friends and I will definitely stay here again.
Room Tip: Definitely worth paying for a room with a terrace, preferably on the front overlooking the sea
