Picked the Araxa for its residential position, mature gardens, generous pool and sundbeds, outside dining area and spacious rooms and I was not disappointed, you get what you see in the pictures, it is situated on a corner about 10 mins stroll from Marina area of Palma. The reception area is traditional and genererous with lots of seating for reading or a drink, a book corner where you can borrow a book for free, a computer area, free wi fi, another corner containing tourist info, a lift and door to wc and conference facilities, the reception staff were helpful and spoke english. We were in room 103 which is above the reception foyer, it was spacious so plenty of room for suitcases, it had a large balcony with wicker table and chairs and looked out over the gardens and pool area. The generous wardrobe contained a deposit box and laundry service bag. The bathroom was generous with the usual inc bath and shower, lots of available hot water and a fixed hairdryer. There was air conditioning, flat screen tv, generous sized furniture, mini bar and telephone, the air conditioning came in very handy at night when the large balcony patio door had to be shut. There is a large bar area with lovely off white leather chairs, flat screen tv, buffet breakfast area and formal restaurant, you can also eat outside at one of the many tables available. Breakfast is leisurely between 8 and 10.30am, snacks and lunch inc a set menu is available through out the day and evening meal is from 8 to 11pm. We were only B&B and chose to eat out most of the time to make the most of Palma's many restaurants and bars. On our last night (saturday) we decided to have evening meal at the hotel choosing to have the set menu which is £16 euros each, you can choose from 3 starters, mains and desserts, I chose steak and it was delicious. We decided to take advantage of the warm weather and sat in outside dining area, a saxaphone player had been hired and he played some lovely music old and new whilst we ate, rounded off the holiday beautifully! The hotel seems very popular with business groups taking advantage of conference facilities for a day or two, young and mature couples, solo travellers, groups and families with older/teenage children. The only downsides I could find are, take your own hairdryer, the one in room dries but does not style and the handle gets very hot. The computer was slow loading internet pages, the location of hotel on a residential corner meant it did get quite busy/noisy at peak times during the week and finally I would not recommend for young families as there is nothing for young children only the pool. Would I return? definitely! next time with a partner for a romantic chilled out break.
Room Tip: Rooms on the front have large balconies that overlook gardens and pool but do get noise from street.
