“Fantastic stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 January 2012

Well this hotel may be 3 stars & likened to a travel lodge but we have just had a fantastic 4 night stay here. For value for money (we paide £120 for 4 nights in January 2012) it has to be 5 stars! It is clean & comfortable. The hotel had both Air Berlin crew (no problem with them) & Spanish business men staying & had a nice atmosphere as opposed to just tourists. The staff were warm & welcoming. Our room was clean. The beds just the right hardness for a good nights sleep & with nice crisp sheets & decent pillows. The bathroom had lovely big fluffy towels daily although we did not request these to be changed & lux shower gel. It was clean.
Breakfast was good value at 5.05 euros each (offer) but sign up for a MAS card (at the hotel) & get 2 for 1. There was plenty of choice & good healthy options alongside cooked options. The bar was good value too: 2 glasses of wine 4.50 euros. There is an indoor pool, etc but we didn't use this. We know the area really well so were not intimidated but the area is scuffy.

We will stay here again.

“Perfect Hotel for Short Stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 November 2011

We selected this hotel as a stop over prior to a cruise out of Mallorca and were pleasantly surprised. Great location. Close to airport and port. Taxi fare from airport including $1. Euro per bag (we had 4) and tip was $18.00. Our fare from the hotel to port was $13.00 including bags & tip. We ordered the free Mas card over the internet. It gave us buy one get one free on the international breakfast each day. We ate several dinners in the restaurant, all were three-course and very good. The service each evening was even better. We stayed on the 4th floor overlooking the front terrace and quaint street. It was very quiet except for a little street noise one night. Our room was clean and had wonderful thick 100% Egyptian cotton towels in the bath and comfortable crisp white bed linens. There are many places to eat in walking distance. We were able to get to and see the entire city very inexpensively. We purchased a 24 hour Palma City Sight Seeing bus ticket at the front desk. The bus stop is a short walk from the hotel entrance. The ticket ($15. Euro per person) is well worth the price. A 48 hour ticket can be purchased by the bus driver for a couple of dollars more. The bus is double Decker with an open air 2nd level. You are given a map of the city & a new set of headphones to plug into your chair. Select your language and you receive an overview of every sight as you pass. You may get on and off as much as you want and all the prime sights are covered. On our finial day of sight seeing we took the #3 city bus back to the hotel. The cost $2.50 euro for two senior tickets. All the buses & taxis were very clean and easy to get to. Our stay at the Tyrp saved us money on our logging, transportation, and food. It is an excellent choice for the value.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise and better views

“Nice front - shame about the back!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

On arrival my wife and I were checked in very promptly. ALL the staff were most obliging. We had requested a room on the top floor, but we were given a room on the fourth overlooking the pool ! The pool area was most uninviting and really in need of refurbishment. The sun beds urgently need replacing and a new layout wouldn't go amiss, together with plants, etc.
The front of the hotel was much better with a water feature and plenty of tables and chairs which, as has been mentioned in past TA reviews,
are regularly frequented by Air Berlin staff, However, it was not a problem and most interesting for people watching ! Rooms were cleaned every day and were spotless.
The restaurant was o.k., although in our opinion, understaffed and a very repetitive menu. Breakfast was good. The hotel itself needed a more directional approach.
Although our beds were some of the hardest we have ever encountered, we were so tired, most nights to ignore this fact. The paper-thin walls would contribute to the noise level (one almost thought one was sleeping in Munich)!
Now, having said all that, the Bosque Hotel has a certain "je ne sais quoi" that we liked and we would certainly stay there again.
Location is reasonable. 25 minutes to walk to the cathedral. Buses frequent. just down the road. One supermarket over the road and a large one three minutes away.
The hotel was not overly flushed with information in the room and no "In case of fire " instructions on the back of the door.

“Pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2011

Very pleasant three night stay recently. As mentioned MAS card two-for-one breakfast deal is a real value as the breakfast is an extensive buffet. (Book room without breakfast if you want to use MAS card deal.) Staff very nice and accommodating. Room large and pleasant with balcony overlooking front of hotel. Very clean. Do find the #3 bus as it will take you into town; it was way too hot for us to walk and this hotel is up a hill. The only thing I would stay away from is eating dinner here. We did it one night because we were really tired and wished we'd gone out. But all in all very nice hotel for the price.

“Decent, value for money hotel in a good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

We did a lot of research before settling on the Tryp Bosque with a budget of £200 for 3 nights. Our twin room on the eight floor was cool(a/c worked fine), airy with a nice terrace, although the sun never settles on the front of the hotel. Mini supermarket opposite, and even larger one around the corner. Breakfast deal on a MAS (loyalty) card was 2-4-1, so nine euros for 2 x buffet style hot and cold breakfasts - very good value. Service was fine, with some good advise from the receptionists on where to go, although the overnight receptionist(male) was very grumpy when quizzed about buses at 7.30 in the morning. Pool was glorious, very quiet and not too cold, very welcome in 34 degrees this weekend. As mentioned elsewhere, mainly german/spanish clientele, with large numbers of Air Berlin staff, but the hotel is quiet, clean and decent - we couldn't really fault it for the equivalent of 'Travelodge' prices.

Very easy on the bus to/from the airport, thanks fellow Trip Advisers for your instructions for the No. 1 bus. Marina area is a short walk, maybe 10 mins , and the old town and cathedral around 25 minutes along the promenade. Buses made the city very easily accessable(No 3 from end of the road), and the immediate area around the hotel is OK, with a few nice looking prospects such as La Pergola.

Room Tip: Refuse a room on Floor 1, no terrace. Rooms overlooking pool are quieter, overlooking the road and s...
