Choose this hotel because of the great reviews and of course the loaction has a lot to do with my rating. Mostly enjoyed this hotel because I could pop in and pop out of the middle of the city as often as I wanted. I have been to Palma city twice before and this was my best stay. I am sure that I will go back again. Just a little advice; do NOT rent a car because it is waste of time if you are staying in the city center and parking is just as difficult as other major cities.

Contrary to what a couple of reviews have said, I found all the Reception staff helpful and friendly. The waiters and even the chambermaids were also friendly. The breakfast is excellent, and so is the Menu del Dia at lunchtime, very good food and good value. The hotel is very central, modern and has interesting decor. The rooms were very quiet indeed, considering it's in the middle of a busy city.

Handy hints:
1. If you want to go to the Miro Foundation, take the 46 bus from round the corner in the Avenida Jaime III. Get off at the last stop but 2, it goes all the way up into the hills! Only costs 1.50 euros per person.
2. We found a little restaurant that had the best food I can remember tasting in years. It's called Es Raconet, and is in the Carrer Moliners, just inbetween the Plaza San Miguel and the Plaza Mayor. Menu del dia was 14 euros per person, and this included a bottle of wine. The food was outstanding, full of mediterranean flavours, and you wouldn't think it from outside; it looks like a cafe, and is very modest and small. But go there!

We visited the Jaime III in January 2012. This was our 3rd trip to Palma and we wanted a city centre based hotel. The Jaime III fit the bill perfectly! Receptionist was very friendly and efficient; spoke excellent English. I had requested a high floor room with balcony and bath - which is exactly what I got! Room 901 on the top floor. Bath was a bit short, but bathroom clean and tidy. Room was good size and nice and light. I do think however that paying per day for the safe is a bit antiquated in this environment! Add it to the hotel room charge please in future! Disappointingly the jacuzzi bath was drained in the day so we couldn't use that, but otherwise, no faults. Breakfast was fabulous - so much choice, and Cava too! Really excellent choice. We stayed for 4 nights and it never got repetitive. The bar is nice too and the waiters are friendly. Pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this hotel and am returning in June!

The hotel is modern and bright. Our room had a balcony that did face the street, but the noise was not bothersome. The street out front is a wide divided boulevard with trees, so very pleasant. Could not complain about anything in the room, king bed and bathroom were well outfitted. The staff were always helpful and answered questions for us easily. Find a room rate with breakfast included--it is well worth it. The food is very good and a huge selection. Also, made to order coffee. All this and right next to shopping and dining.
