“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I really liked this hotel. I spent 4 days there over Christmas 2011 and my room was very nice - clean and a nice view. The pool area was nice too with water beds and a jacuzzi. A lady on reception spent about 10 minutes explaining to us information about the history of the city and things to do. The location near the port and Bellver castle was perfect. The airport bus #1 stops very close to the hotel. Recommended!

“Can I come back?”

Myself and my girlfriends from way back when take a little city break each autumn which has gradually changed into a mini sun holiday. I booked this hotel based on a generally positive rating from tripadvisor and struck gold! Some times we end up with poor-ish rooms as we are looking for three singles in one room (our group varies from 4-7). Not so the Armadams. WE had almost palatial proportion sto what I suspect is a family room. The room itself was enormous (by European standards) but the best part was when we opened a curtain to discover a little sitting room with a sofabed, tv and reading desk. Lo and behold a second curtain yielded a private terrace where we could sunbathe and partake of rather more cava than we should admit to. Our nightly ritual rapidly turned to a couple of bottles before heading out for dinner. We also had a private entrance to the pool, gym, sauna, steamroom, jacuzzi etc. There is even a free sunbed, a little bit difficult to understand with the abundant good weather.

The breakfast was excellent and plentiful with lots of variety served by v helpful staff. The shower was fantastic with so much space and two good sized hand basins. Somewhat unbelievably the hotel offered us a 5pm check out so we could go to the beach for our last day.

We had one minor glitch involving a lost safe key (no master!). It cost €50 to replace but a very pleasant young lady on reception arranged to attend at the opening of the safe by a private company so we would not have to wait in for the day.

This hotal is well located, near enough to walk to the old town (taxis are very cheap) and is clean, spacious, and has numerous facilities, all free of charge. Get thee to the Armadams....

Room Tip: No 1 bus from airport is €2 and get off at the stop outside the costa azul hotel. It's a 2 minut...

“nice rooms, unfriendly staff”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 October 2011

Me and my wife stayed in this hotel for 8 days, the rooms are large and clean and the breakfast is very nice, but it's a shame that most of the staff is not very nice there, a goodmorning is sometimes costing them a lot of effort.
the airco makes a sound of a dryer so it's not easy to get sleep in the first nights.
the hotel is located in a very busy street, lots of traffic and if you want to go to a beach you will need a car, 15 minutes drive.

“Good hotel, great location!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 October 2011

Location, location, location is everything to me when staying in a hotel. This fitted the bill in this case and myself and my husband really enjoyed the walk into the old town from the hotel. You can stroll through the back streets or head down the steps just down left from the hotel along the seafront into the city.

However, be careful on arrival because we got off at the wrong bus stop (bus No 1 from Palma airport) and had to walk for ages to find the hotel.

Our room was lovely clean and spacious and the bathroom was as large as any hotel room you will stay in in New York! Magnified mirror great addition (take notice other hotels).

We made great use of the outdoor pool after returning to the hotel in the evenings, a great way to cool down and freshen up for the night before heading off to the selection of restaurants in the old town, the promenade or along the street of restaurants (not far from hotel),

Would recommend this for couples who enjoy sightseeing cities but not for young people looking for wild nightlife nor for the very elderly or those with walking problems because the steps down to seafront are quite steep.

Only problem with hotel was that there computer never did what I wanted it too and I felt I was driving the receptionist mad because I had to keep asking for assistance. On the day of departure I had to get receptionist to print out my boarding pass at reception. Feel computer in reception for public use needs overhauling. Otherwise very pleasant stay at this hotel.

“Good Location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 September 2011

After reading some other reviews of this hotel I thought I'd share my views. Firstly, the rhotel is in a great location, one road behind the main road around the harbour. Its also on several bus routes so access to other parts of the island is good (and cheap!). It is in a slightly residential area but also surrounded by other hotels. There is direct access to the main harbour by way of some steps opposote the hotel, so you are literally a minute away from teh front and approx 10 mins into the centre of Palma, which is a nice walk along the front. The reception area is fine with friendly staff always willing to help. We arrived early so our room wasn't ready so we left our luggage in the left luggage area while having an early lunch at one of the excellent restuarants on the front. Our room was facing the road above the pool area, and we didn't notice any real road noise (just close the windows!). The room was clean with a large bed and a decent size modern bathroom. The aforementioned pool area was small, but there were always free sunbeds - although the sun went behind the hotel around 5pm. Overall, for a short break or even longer as a base to explore the hotel is ideal.
