I chose this hotel because it was cheap! It was perfectly adequate for my needs though. Although the hotel as a whole could really do with an update, my room was spacious and clean (exept for the grubby chair in the corner). Maintenance is lacking in some areas of the hotel but I think a fair bit of effort goes into looking after the pool area which was very pleasant and there is a fantastic view of the harbour.

The hotel is set in a quiet residential part of town but there are shops and bars right around the corner as well as a shopping mall. It's at least a 40 minute walk to get to Palma centre but it's a really nice walk next to the sea and there are plenty of restaurants and bars along the way. I think it's easy to get a bus but I enjoyed the walk.

I didn't have any problems with the staff but that may be because I had a very standard stay with no need to complain or make any additional requests. There was a lovely curly haired receptionist but everyone else was polite but not overly friendly. The worst thing about my stay was not being given ANY information when I checked in. No map, no information about the hotel facilities, no advice about transport ... nothing. I assumed there would probably be a guest book in the rooms but there wasn't.

I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the food. It wasn't obvious what was on offer at the hotel food wise because the staff just aren't very forthcoming but there are plenty of good restaurants near by anyway.

I would definitely recommend this hotel if you want a holiday in Palma but are on a tight budget.

Didn't check out this hotel on trip advisor as it was a quick decision and needed to get here urgently. This hotel is in need of a refurb. The rooms are grubby, the chair in the room was disgusting and I wouldn't go near it, the floor was dirty and had a big bunch of hair blowing around so don't think anyone had swept let alone mopped. The shower looked like it was going to fall off the wall but at least it worked well. The cafe bar near the pool was very dirty, don't think they have mopped the floor all summer by the look of it, at least the bar man Toni was pleasant, the food was awful and a friend had tummy trouble after eating here. Reception was very unfriendly and need some customer service training, Air conditiong was blowing a smell of sewerage. The lift broke and didn't get fixed, there was water leaking through ceiling with buckets catching the water near the lift. They need a refurb and more cleaners. Don't stay !

I only needed a place to stay for a couple of nights with my family. We are not that fussy and have always been impressed by the standard of hotels in Spain so I never checked it out on Trip Advisor this was a bad mistake.We arrived at 9am and where told we could not check in untill 1pm no big deal we thought .We walked around for a few hours came back and took our bags towards the room.The first thing we saw was torn carpet on the stairs.I thought dont worry the rooms will be fine this was also bad mistake. The room was covered with stained woodchip wallpaper.There was even stains on the ceiling.Plywood doors from the 60s and a dirty old bathroom.My wife just wanted to leave then and there but I convinced her I would be ok.We went down for breakfast the next day and could not find anything to eat we walked around and around several times and came back with just a few scraps.All the staff looked fed up and unhappy .later on by the pool I ordered some chips and drinks from the bar.When they arrived they where stone cold so I took them back to the bar they poured water over them and put them back into the oven to reheat.When I told them I wanted fresh chips they told me they had no more left and I would have to take them or leave them.I could go on for a long time about this hotel but please dont make the same mistake as I did if you want to enjoy Spain please don't stay here.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Horizonte and I would definitely recommend it. The hotel may not be luxurious but it is comfortable, clean and in a fantastic location to explore Palma and also near to the lovely beach at Cala Mayor (Where the Spanish royal family have their holiday palace!) -the no 46 bus to the beach is outside the hotel and takes approx 10mins/ 3.75 euros for 2 adults and a child. A taxi into Palma is only approx 6 euros and again there is a taxi rank outside the hotel. The hotel has a viewing veranda that looks out over Palma bay where you can see the cruise ships and boats and also the cathedral. This hotel is the perfect base to holiday from.
