“Rubbish, waste of my time”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2010

When it comes to holidays this is the epitome of a waste of my time.
For starters, when we arrived at the signature 4.8 stars hotel (Grupotel Cala san Vicente) we thought, what a marvellous work of art for such a bargain, we are amazed.
Until you walk through the front door, it was barren absolutely nobody with in a five mile radius of the place.

After about 20 minutes standing the cold, the manager came into the viewing spectrum…. With his pyjamas strapped around his skinny rib cage.
When we arrived at the door of our room their was a distinct smell of potent droppings to our surprise we opened the door only to find some smelly cat cushioned upon our tatty bed sheets, the cat has grease spewing from every hair.
So we again stormed to the desk demanding to change rooms but have a guess what… there was nobody their.

We eventually were immediately moved to the elegant on sweet with a mini bar and a vending machine.. We were delighted.
When we went outside we were greeted by the most hideous creature you could ever see.
I cannot describe this image because this is a family website.

Onwards I go towards the ever growing danger of criminal:

I went out to the buffet located in the luxury dining area, to get some breakfast even though I am 25 this was not suitable for even my easy to please children.
The buffet included a mixture of raw eel soup, cornflakes and a pitiful excuse for an English brunch.
When I swiftly glided to my master bedroom I noticed my door was partially open so I walked with caution to the door only to find silence, but I hastily role called my personal items such as my makeup, hair dryer, passport and various items.
As I recalled my valuables I suddenly noticed “where is my passport” as you can imagine I once again rushed to the front desk, the manger was informed by the police to check the CCTV but sadly they could not identify the criminal.
None the less I am still in Ibiza enjoying the rest of my vacation from hell.

p.s don’t go unless for an idiot

“Fabulous”

This was our 3rd visit to this hotel and wil def be going back again. There are only a handful of English staying at the hotel, whcih suits us fine and our little girl played with the german, spanish and french children with much excitement.

We have stayed previously for 6 nights, then last year 7 nights and this year 9 nights and the previous two times we have gone all inclusive, which I have to admit you can not fault. The food and drinks were excellent, as was the bar service, restaurant and reception staff.

If you like a venue with lots going on, this is probably not the place for you, if you want to chill and unwind, then here is your paradise.

“Great location for a relaxing beach holiday”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 September 2007

Cala San Vicente is quite isolated (although pretty easy to access from Ibiza Town by bus - only about 45 minutes away), but is perfect for those wanting to laze away the days in the sun.

The hotel is a good three star hotel - the rooms are decent and clean, the reception staff good and the breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet reasonable (a little more variety and a change of menu occasionally at the lunch and dinner buffets would do wonders however!). The pool is quite small, but clean and the beach is quite stunning.

There are only another 2 or so hotels on this resort (its quite small), but there are a couple of cafes, restaurants and bars all serving pretty high quality fare.

I would recommend the resort and the hotel to those wanting a quiet couple of days away from it all. I would probably just get bed and breakfast only (the restaurants are a better choice for lunch and dinner) and be aware that if you book on one of the cheaper websites, you will get a room with no view!

Be aware also that there are no cash machines on the resort and the hotel only accepts cash for purchases made at the bar etc.

  • Liked — Clean, easy and reasonably priced
  • Disliked — Room with no view!

“Inconvenient, but nice hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 August 2007

this is our fourth time to ibiza. went for a weekend in august, when it is very difficult to find good value accomodation. the majority of guests were german package holiday goers, but the atmosphere and food was much better than any other similar type hotel we had been to in the past. The food was quite good (dinner and breakfast were included wiht our room), and the bathrooms were very new and clean. Probably because we had booked on the internet, we got a room in the back, with no ocean views, on top of the road where all the tour buses loaded and unloaded. if you are going to stay here and want to explore the island and go out at night, you definitley need a car. there is free parking and we never had a problem finding an available spot. in general, i would recommend this place as an above average mid range hotel in ibiza.

“Too Far From the Action”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2007

First, if you enjoy being far away from the shopping, clubbing, and sightseeing this is the perfect hotel for you. It cost me 43EU one way from the airport. The main attractions of the island are near the airport area; such as Ibiza Town. To be fair they do have a car rental dealer a short walk from the hotel. If you like to just stay in one area and sit on the beach alll day long - it's perfect. I found the hotel service not too good. Maids will steal or should I say take what ever change you have around in your room as a tip for themselves. I found this out as I checked out. The view of the sea is beautiful, but make sure you book a balcony room or you will be in the back/front of the hotel with your room facing a large unattractive small mountain side. It's very noisy because all the traffic flow on that side of the hotel. Especially in the morning when people are going to work or just leaving for the day. There were other problems I experience but to keep from listing every bad experience specifically at this hotel. That may go beyond the guildlines of my review. So you are warned. Oh and honestly people of color may not feel comfortiable here. Me and my friend received nothering but stares and glares. Strange???
