I spent one night here on business travel. The room was nicely appointed. Room service was efficient even if they got my order wrong (a bit of a language issue, my Spanish/ their English)

Stayed for a week in July 2010. A modern hotel, designed in the style of techno. Rooms are quite common, nice bathroom with lots of essential details: a toothbrush, hairbrush, robe, slippers, etc. Simply magnificent cuisine! Located on the outskirts of the city, but the center quickly and easily reachable by public transport. I recommend!

I find unbeliable that I need to complain about Hotel customers smoking at 9 in the morning in the restaurant at breakfast (24 October 2010). The table was situated in the middle of the room, with a group of 5 people, 3 of them smoking . Even more shocking that any of the Hotel employees said a word. Spain, still in the third world... but who cares? (btw, I have Spanish nationality).

I stayed at the Gran Hotel Lakua one Friday night, from 11pm to 8am, on my way back driving from Portugal to France. In that context, the hotel's location near the main highway (1km) was a plus as I did not need to enter the city, but it would probably be a negative for those planning to visit the city as tourists. The hotel was easy to find and the inside parking was clean, well-lit and had a lot of nice large empty spaces. As I was arriving late and leaving early I particularly appreciated the fact that the reception and the room service were truly working in 24 hour mode; contacting either felt like one was in the middle of the day, not in the middle of the night. Rooms are nice and large, but the working desk has an awkward shelf that blocks the screen of one's laptop. Not the end of the world, but clearly not designed by someone who has a laptop. The internet was free and was fast. Paid 89 Euros for a "Habitación Doble Superior" plus 13 Euros for breakfast. As a stopover hotel this was very convenient.
