“Modern hotel away from the city centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 November 2011

Located away from the centre of San Sebastian, this modern hotel is very comfortable with good facilities, free parking and friendly staff. From the hotel it is about a 20 min walk down the hill to the main beach and city centre. The helpful receptionist also gave us a map, showing us where & which bus to catch to save us walking back up the hill.

The room was spacious, modern and with all the facilities you'd expect including free Wifi, although there was only 1 English station available on the TV. The cafe in the lobby was pleasant but simple (shame about the gambling machine in the corner) and served good coffee and excellent muffins!

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front as they have views over the bay.

“Average hotel hotel in a poor location”

The lobby is nice but the rooms are pretty basic. Not what you'd expect from a modern hotel.

The "double room" is just 2 single beds pressed together, so not ideal for couples.

It's a 30 minute walk uphill from the city center. There are other hotels in the city which would be much more convenient.

The food in the restaurant is terrible. I mean really bad, it's tough to achieve this in Spain.

Also, don't get room service. They charge you an extra €5 just to carry the food up the elevator to your room. You can pick it up from the front desk and save the unnecessary charge.

“Three star hotel will good food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

Room was spacious and clean, free wifi, safe provided and good aircon.
Plumbing was noisey as walls were thin, few tv stations, only one in english. Foyer / bar area is a bit basic with a gambling machine flashing away. Food was good both dinner and the generous breakfast.
Staff were polite and effecient. Not that near the town centre but clise to a bus. A small food shop and a bar close by but little else. Fabric needs attention in places. Only a small ironing board available. Fine for business, bit too functional for a holiday in my opinion.

“Great price for what it is”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 April 2011

We booked a room the day of arrival and were able to spend around $85 for free parking, free wifi and a large spacious room. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood rather than the center of town by the beach, however that was perfect for us as we had a car. I would estimate it took less than 10 minutes to drive to the plaza major area depending on traffic. Being the off season we did not have trouble finding parking near the old center, but we of course had to pay. The room had lots of outlets so we could charge all our electronics. The hotel bar had a pleasant atmosphere. The food was ok and a little pricey for what it was. We did not eat in the restuarant. Our only complaints were that the bed was pretty uncomfortable (and a tad itchy!) as well as the super thin walls. We heard EVERYTHING going on in the room next door which is a little creepy as it was like we were in the same room as our neighbor during their romantic encounters. I would recommend this hotel to travelers looking for a cheap but nice hotel and in need of free wifi and parking. Would not recommend for those wanting to be in the midst of the action or light sleepers (depending on who is in the room next door!). All in all we would recommend this hotel for the price we paid. Any more expensive and our review would not have been so positive.
