“Ok but not memorable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

We stayed here for two nights during the shoulder season. We had a room on the same floor as reception, which meant that we heard all the comings and goings and their dot matrix printer in the middle of the night ! The rooms are not very well soundproofed at all. While the room was very clean, I think you could probably find a more comfortable stay for a similar price. The wifi dropped out repeatedly and breakfast was included but not recommended. I don't usually write disparaging reviews, but I can't say that I really enjoyed our stay here. Parking, as for most places in SS, is not included so a local parking station was recommended at 18 euros per day, cash only.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the same floor as reception as you won't get any sleep !

“A bit overpriced”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 September 2011

For what it is, it seemed a little expensive. The location was great, but parking was an extra 18 euro a day in an off site garage. The free breakfast was nice and filling. We stayed for 2 nights in a double room, which ended up being two twin beds of different heights pushed together. The room and bathroom were very clean though, and we had a nice balcony overlooking the street, which was fun to sit on at night. The street noise wasn't too horrible, even with 2 bars below. Speaking of other noise however, this place is loud. I know it isn't the hotel's fault that other guests are inconsiderate, but it seemed like a door was slamming somewhere every few minutes and it kept us up at night. The walls are very thin and we could hear everything our neighbors were doing. In conclusion, bring earplugs.

Room Tip: The balcony was nice and big, so any room with that is worth it.

“No air conditioning at night”

Hostal Bahia was the splurge of our trip. It was in a great location if you want to be by la Concha and was very clean. My only complaint was that they turn off the air from midnight to 8 in the morning. Since we didn't have air conditioning when sleeping, we had to open the windows. The street was very loud and busy with cars and people walking home from the bars. None of us could sleep with the din of the city. Then in the morning there was smoke coming into our window from the smokers below. I'd rather not have air in the daytime when we weren't in the room than when we're trying to sleep. I've never heard of a hotel doing something like this.

“Only if desperate!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 August 2011

We chose to stay here as it was the only place available for our dates and based on trip advisors rating we thought it would be ok - WRONG! Loud, noisy, uncomfortable and very expensive. Room was clean, however staff rude and very unhelpful! Breakfast room so hot you couldn't even eat in there! Seriously - don't bother!!

“Below expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2011

Stayed at the Hostal Bahia for a long weekend after looking for a beachfront hotel. The best thing about this hotel is the location - 5 minutes from La Concha, within easy reach of the parte vieja and the city centre, so pretty much everywhere you will want to see is within easy reach. The rooms are for the most part pretty small (the kind where you have squeeze through spaces) and basic, unrefurbished from the 1970s. The only problem I did have was that the bed linen was unclean and had a horrible odour from previous guests. The walls are also pretty thin so at night we reguarly heard loud music or the television of other rooms. If you're expecting peace and tranquility this isn't the option for you. The breakfast which is included was good.
