Beautiful city! We stayed 3 nights and this hotel was just average. The room was nice with a nice ocean view but it felt old and the bathroom smelled like urine. The staff was not too friendly. I think they were really busy and understaffed. The city had a huge film festival going on and had lots of extra guests for that reason. Not sure if we would stay there again. Great location, only 1 block from the ocean.

So, for what it was, this hotel was daylight, physical abuse. I had a single for €195, was upgraded to a €235 sea-view room that was tiny. I think the room was z-shaped; it seemed to be a series of corridors joined by a toilet. I cannot believe these prices for this lack of facility. The hotel looks like it might be a 1960s or 1970s structure that has been upgraded. The room (though small) was clearly recently renovated but you can never hide the skeleton of a hotel. The lifts were ancient and much polished, slow and terrible. But, the kicker was the entrance hallway, loads of soviet marble and pillared-stuff overwhelmed by recently being washed with a mixture of urine and dettol. Unbelievable that no one spotted the obvious third-world-ness of it all. More the pity because the reception as excellent, the receptionist was wonderful, gave me a great restaurant reference, booked it and was generally hugely competent. But, in the end the staff can beat the building

It is not a seafront hotel but is handily placed one street back from the promenade. There wasn't a restaurant in the hotel but breakfast was served and was more than adequate. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance dotted around the old part of the town and harbour.

we saved 5 euros by booking online.and got the room next to the elevator no beach view..it was like sleeping next to a bowling alley for 195 euro per night. location was ok.not on the beach though.room was tiny. no english channels.staff unhelpful and unfriendly. much better 3 star
