I stayed here for 3 nights with 2 friends. We had a friendly welcome.
We all had single rooms. They were clean and had the usual facilities, including a small bath with plenty of hot water.
Initially we thought our rooms were cold until we realised we could switch on the radiators; perhaps we should have been told this on checking in.
My room seemed rather noisy the first night. , it sounded like lift doors opening and closing., but the hotel has no lift. I think there are apartments above the hotel, (it is in a multi-storey building ) and I may have been hearing their lift. My friend in the next room didn't hear it.
The continental-style breakfast, cost 6 euros. There was excellent coffee, freshly made for each guest, fruit, juice, cereals, fresh rolls and croissants, and various sweet cakes ,etc, in packets.
We walked to the Guggenheim the first morning, but later found there is a Metro station quite near, at Plaza de Zabalburu.
Despite doing a lot of research beforehand on the internet I found it difficult to work out the routes of the metro lines, buses, and trams in relation to the geography of the city, there needs to be a much better tourist map than any I could find. But the staff in the Information offices were very helpful, and in fact we were offered help everywhere, by station staff, and passers-by when they saw us puzzling over maps.
We were told we did not have to vacate our rooms till noon on our last day, and we were able to leave our bags there until we had to leave for the airport. .
